Seattle will either fork over the money or they will trade him. I doubt they let him go for nothing.

I agree. I don't know why they are doing so bad right now. Even with an off-season as bad as theirs, I don't unserstand why they are losing way too much.

Anyways I would love it if the Sixers signed him .

I actually really like this contract structure.

The renegotation gives an incentive for a developing players to play hard every night.

It's far better than the common situation of a developing player getting paid ridiculous amounts of money and then just decides to coast through the rest of his life in the NBA.

yeah you have to figure they would make a reasonable offer, and depending on how the team is doing he might decide to stay, perhaps even if he could get a little more money on other teams. im really disapointed with the sonics so far, k well im disapointed with their defense, move your damn feet seriously. im a die hard sonics fan, always have them, and ill always support them, but it would be nice to see them continue on from where they left off last year. the loss of daniels was absolutely tremendous especially because ridnour is totally tanking. they need to get him a shooting coach, his form looks like some middle schoolers

lay off amphatoast, he doesn't have to use caps if he doesn't want to. he can do whatever he wants because it is a free internet. you need to learn to stop over stepping your boundaries and learn to fall into line, private. sometimes i think you are a real pain in the ass and right now you just proved it. why don't you go home and cry to your momma about why you got yelled at today in front of everyone. i'm sure she is the only one who wants to hear it, pussy.

Seattle needs to stop drafting gay centres and actually draft a decent 2 or 3 spot to build on in a couple years when ray allen dies lol jk but that nigga is pretty old
For a long time it gave me nightmares... witnessing an injustice like that... it's a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be... I can still hear them taunting him... silly rabbit, tricks are for kids... I mean, WHY COULDN'T THEY JUST GIVE HIM SOME CEREAL?

hes still a straight up baller though, but yeah if you look at it he really doesnt have a real backup damien wilkins is ok, but hes no star

its tough to find a consistent big man in this league, clearly we have tried, when is the last time we had production from an F or C in terms of points per game? kemp?

man rashard has just been lights out this year, and its not like he is only taking jump shots either, ithink radmonovic is stating to learn that basketball is more than sitting on the three point line waiting for a kickout/taking a jump shot with 20 left on the shot clock

23.7 point per game
1.79 steals per game
4 assists per game
4 rebounds per game

not bad considering he is shooting terribly right now, i will never be worried about rays performance, hes one of the best players in the league, and there are few others that i would rather have on my team

Bad-mouthing RealGM is utterly unnecessary.

Opting out means he can cancel his contract, it doesn't mean he'll leave the team, it means he wants to renegotiate his salary. Asking for a raise is not quite the same as handing in your resignation.

As quoted, he'd prefer to stay in Seattle, if he thinks management can afford him:

"“I can see myself playing for the rest of my career here, but I don’t think that is going to be my decision,” Lewis said. “It is halfway my decision, but the upstairs office has a lot of control on every player here, where they want us to be and what they want us to do.”

Considering Rick Sund decided not to resign Antonio Daniels, not resign Nate McMillan, not renegotiate Radmanovic, and didn't even resign Ray Allen until he was a free agent, i think it's pretty clear what they're saving all that money for.
