Some of the rumours sites I check out from time to time are suggesting morale is quite low and a lot of folks backstage including the talent are losing confidence in Vince and don't agree with the way the company is doing business these days. Personally, I think they're making the mistake of trying to fix what isn't broken and insisting that the issues that really are problems with the current product don't exist.

well the password to get free access on the Online version of 24/7 was leaked so that might've been one of the factors.

I got to use it a couple of times.

As for the game, I just saw my cousins playing it. It looked great plus I looks pretty complicated now with all the new features. Then again, I haven't played a smackdown since Just Bring It!

In pretty much every wrestling game I've got over the years, my least favourite part of the season mode has been tag matches, primarily because your partner is usually just too stupid, never taking out the opponent that comes in and breaks up the pin. SVR2006 suffers the same problem, especially since you can't focus on the illegal man to knock them off the apron then rush back over and pin the legal man after hitting your finisher.

Yeah...Tag matches and Handicap matches are annoying. I'd rather play a gauntlet match then those...

Yeah that's another part of the game I usually don't look forward to all that much. The CPU can almost always find a way of easily eliminating you, though I managed to win it with Batista when I played through the RAW storyline. The ring-out meter makes things a lot fairer.

Tag-team matches are tough in all videogames it seems to me, mostly because of the tagged out opponent always breaks up pins (and in Day of Reckoning 2, sometimes finishers). Obviously that makes it more difficult because otherwise you could make it a one on one pretty much, but it's hard to switch back and forth without somehow screwing yourself over.

Damn, all your review sounds good. I'm actually buying a whole new gaming device just for this game... well, GTA Liberty City stories too, but still, PSP is the key to this game for me. I've heard that the Create-A-Wrestler Moves have some setbacks, since THQ took out some moves for it, can anyone clarify that? I've also heard that there's not gonna be commentary for the PSP, but the PSP version get the mini games :D

Also several questions to the people who already played this game...

1. Are you allowed to edit existing superstar's moves, looks, and entrances? (If there is anyway to upgrade Batista's crappy entrance to his real life firework show would be awesome)

2. How many CAW's can you make? (Create-A-Wrestler)

3. Are the Handicap matches in Season mode bearable? I remember the WWF No Mercy days where if you're in a handicap match, you might as well give up because it was just impossible.

Thanks in advance for answering!

Exactly. Last year it was a bit better because you could switch focus to the opponent on the apron, knock them off then rush back over and pin for a three count. You can also call for interference from your tag partner but they usually just enter the ring and stand there when they should rush over and get in the way of your opponent. Frustrating to say the least.

Moves: yes; Entrances: yes; Appearance: No. You can add extra pyro, the create-an-entrance is pretty in-depth.

2. How many CAW's can you make? (Create-A-Wrestler)

Can't remember offhand, might be about 30-40...I'd have to check when I get home.

Yes, though they are difficult. But for all the help your tag partner gives you in tag matches, you probably won't have any trouble with handicap matches. ;)

Hmm, well, I just got a PSP, and I'm awaiting the SvR2006 PSP version to be released, but in the meantime, do any of you SvR2006 fans know any SvR2006 fansites that are similiar to NLSC? Please hook me up with some links. Thanks.

The best forum/resource centre is probably the one over at gamefaqs.com.

Actually, I've found some pretty good ones diggin through the wide array of pages in gamefaqs boards. Here are some pretty good CAW & Fan sites:

Yeah, I got the PSP version. After trying out both the PS2 and PSP version, they're pretty much equal, save the fact that the PSP takes a million years to load, has half as much layers for CAW mode, cannot manually target other wrestlers, and the producers wasted precious space by including the Eugene Airplane race and the Trivia game. Texas Hold Em is really good, but I wonder how much more could've been if the other 2 minigames didnt make it in...

You've also got an extra Legend to unlock in Jake the Snake. That's poor though. In theory it's genius from a marketing standpoint because it forces people to buy two versions of the game (and some people will), but I don't agree with the notion at all. You shouldn't have to shell out more money just to take advantage of one feature.

you dont have to. just draft him at the end of the first year of GM mode. one other thing, you said earlier that CAE was pretty in-depth, well, ive played DoR2, and that is a lot better than this. you can time pyro and stuff, you dont have a limit on how many pyro you can have in an entrance, and there are a lot more moves and stuff to choose from. also you have the option of coming out in a lowrider, limo, bike, or with a dog, which is cool. if they can have some of this stuff next year, that would be cool

Ah, the end of the first year...I was wondering about that, thought it was just a rumour when I couldn't do it. I did hear that was a bug though rather than an intended feature.

That's pretty cool, if they could do that for the next version that would be awesome. Another thing Yuke's could improve on is previews for the entrance.. Even using the entrance guide from the CAW sites making CAE a chore, especially on the PSP when the load times are just insane.

Honestly, I'd be extremely glad to trade in 80's Hogan, NWO Hogan, Jake the Snake Roberts, Eugene Airplane Race, and Game Show, all for the extra 16 layers of CAW, as long as the load times stay the same. But then again, I'm glad that SvR2006 is playing out great.

What's the Eugene Airplace race? I haven't come across that on the PS2 version, is it only on the PSP version?
