In massive news just released from the GSW HQ, the Warriors have just been involved in two trades. New GM John Williamson was believed to be the brains behind each trade. In the first trade that was put through earlier this afternoon the Warriors received New York Knicks rookie Channing Frye, in exchange for 2 future first round draft picks.

"I am not angry or disapointed in any way, it just shakes up my whole preseason being traded so close to the first game. I am excited to be a Warrior, it will be a hell of a lot of fun playing alongside Baron and Richardson" said Frye shortly after being traded.

In the second trade, the one which will have people talking for the next few weeks the Warriors were involved in a 6 man trade which was rumored to be just to snare Tayshaun Prince to the team. The Warriors lose young forward Troy Murphy, long term starter Mike Dunleavy and young centre Andries Biedrins to Detroit. Along with Prince, the Warriors also receive veteran forward Antonio McDyess and guard Devin Ham.

"I'm ecstatic to be picked up by the Warriors, this is a team that has recruited well over the past few years and to be a part of it is extremly exciting. I know in Detroit we were an extremly strong team, however its going to be like starting all over again here in Golden State. Playing alongside Richardson, Davies and now Frye also is going to be exciting" said Prince after being picked up by the Warriors.

The Warriors 2005-2006 release to the public has been put back 24 hours to coincide with the massive trade. However here is a sneak peek at the expected starting five with all new players to date included.

C Channing Frye
PF Antonio McDyess
SF Tayshaun Prince
SG Jason Richardson
PG Baron Davies

More news and rumours will be posted as they come in. As well as the results from the Warriors first game against the Hawks which is due to commence in around 48 hours.

Warriors take first win
Davies gets triple double

Today the Golden State Warriors showed fans that they are going to be a strong force this year. Fresh off a controversial trade that saw Troy Murphy and Mike Dunleavy Jnr leave the Warriors they showed that they could be contenders. First gamers for the Warriors Baron Davies, Antonio McDyess and Tayshaun Prince all played major parts in the win. Davies even managed to get a triple double with 34 points, 12 steals and 10 assists.

The Hawks were never in it, with the Warriors leading from start to finish. McDyess played well on both ends of the court with 21 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the Hawks was easily Joe Johnson who scored a massive 42 points, nearly scoring half of there points.

The final score for the game was the Warriors 105 to the Hawks 85. The Warriors come up against Utah tomorrow night and things look good for Golden State, who's main objective will be to stop the outside scoring of AK-47 and stop the run of youngster Deron Williams.
