Have you folks heard of a French rapper named Rotation?...He's got Senegalese roots but he's moved to LA like an year back and he's gonna be appearing at a local club this coming weekend with some band from Chicago, Ill Projekt or something like that and Dawson of Sacramento and Malik B. are gonna host it.

My friend got some of his material a couple a days back and it was pretty phat, he mixes up English, French and some Spanish now and then. The beats are great...I think DJ Vick helped him out on some of them but what got me suprised were his lyrics cause he sounded truly real to me and not like most outta France rappers rhyming about sex. One of the tracks has Ali Shah Muhammed in it thats probably the standout track of the disc its called Africa We Were Born. I think he should be available on the commercial market real soon so perhaps you folks should check his stuff out.

Is the Fort Minor album called The Rising Tied?

If it is, then KEnji and Remember the Name are my favourite songs on that album.

I'm just listening to The Sound of Revenge and I'm digging it. I'm up to Southern Takeover, first song I don't like. Pastor Troy is a bum. But Cham is doing his thing.

Sorry to revive, but does anybody here like "A Perfect Circle"?
It's members are mostly guys from "Tool".

It is simply amazing, the lyrics are great and the song moods are brilliant too.

I've been listening to APC for ages, their last album was disappointing but the previous were great.

Im not a huge rock fan, but i was when i was very young and still have a few favourite bands and songs.

For some reason, when i was about 8 years old i was a massive Motley Crue fan lol  I proudly wore my "Dr Feelgood" shirt even though i had no idea about what their music was all about. I think Kick Start My Heart was one of my favourite songs. I was a Poison fan too and loved "Nothing But A Good Time" and "Every Rose Has its Thorn"

The gunners were an awesome band and sweet child of mine was a classic. Bon Jovi was also good, i think Blaze of Glory was my favourite song of theirs. Aerosmith were ok but i dont remember any of their songs besides jamies got a gun.

Later on i didnt mind the Chillie Peppers and Rage Against The Machine.

2 great Aussie bands that i still dont mind today are AC/DC (hands down best training music around) and Midnight Oil (great political band). Thunderstruck/TNT/You shook me all night long are my favourine AC/DC tracks, while Blue Sky Mine, Beds are Burning, Short Memory are Midnight Oil classics!

ahhhh...was nice to take a trip back on memory lane :D

Tool and APC are both great but Maynard's made them way too similar to each other, there practically the same cept different people filling up the band. He should try and have a wider variation rather than do the same material just slightly different tones and different lyrics.

RHCP are one of my favourites, even though there die hard Laker fans. Their unique sound is there strength, Im yet to hear a band that replicates the RHCP experience. :x

And its Janie's got a gun, not Jamie's.

The Los Angeles underground rock/metal scene is booming right now there are about six bands that really standout though at the moment.

Detach(I think they may sign a deal with RoadRunner Rec. and go commercial), Illness Plunge, History Of Sound, Lesser Days(there all african-american, which is really rare), PikaPoka, LA9(I know the drummer and bassist so I guess its personal bias).

Course there is a big influx of skinhead hardcore bands as well(However, its much less compared to around 8-10 years ago), although fewer people are now listening to that sorta crap. But heck lots of mainstream hardcore and heavy metal bands tend to have some sorta white supremacist policy although never shared publicly. :shake:

Dream Theater is coming to Chile December 6th, and I got my tickets!

They are an American progressive rock band, virtuous instrumentalists. Their current setlist is filled with songs of the new album, Octavarium, which I don't know so well. I wish they would play some of the older songs, but no way.

Does anybody listen to them? :)

Train Of Thought has about 3 songs that are worth it (check out "As I Am" and "In The Name Of God"), but nothing special.
The last one, Octavarium is pretty unknown to me. :|

I sort of got into Nightwish... kept hearing the name so I finally got some of their stuff. It's pretty good, but they're kinda a lesser version of Lacuna Coil... well, they're almost identical to Lacuna Coil. I still prefer Lacuna Coil, and have just set a record for number of times said "Lacuna Coil" in a post.

I guess I should check it out some time. I liked almost all the songs in six degrees though. (Although one of my friends who hated that album liked Train of Thought much better)

Bang: Six Degrees is one of the best albums (as a whole) I've ever heard. ToT hasn't done the trick for me though. :?

Anyone here a fan of The Last Emperor?

Ive got a quite a few of his songs. Thought he had massive potential but havent heard anything from him in a while. Very gifted MC with the most intelligent lyrics ive ever heard, just needs better production...

GZA is fucking ill.

Just thought I'd throw that in. Check 'Luminal'. I'm loving that song right now. I think it's about track 12 on Legend of the Liquid Sword.

I'm getting Liquid Swords (new) off Ebay, was rapped when I found it for just $7 AU.
Also got:
K-OS - Joyfull Rebellion
Josh Martinez - Buck Up Princess
Method Man - Tical
Royce Da 5'9 - Independance Day

All for pretty cheap prices, I sold my 512MB Mp3 player so had a little money to spend for one of the few times in my life
