Pacers lose a season opener in a close game
Indianapolis, Indiana (AP) --
Dan Dickau led the
Boston Celtics over the
Indiana Pacers with 30 points and 3 assists.
"We didn't have enough to win." - said
Ron Artest, who scored 23 points and recorded 3 steals.
The Pacers started off really good, but then got on a cold streak, missing 7 shots in a row. Indiana catched up to Boston during the 3rd quarter. Both teams were playing really close. It came down to last minute. The Pacers were losing by 1. They passed the ball to
Jermaine O'Neal, who scored 29 ponits and gto 17 rebs, he dribbled till about 12 seconds and took a shot. He missed, and the Celtics got the rebound. Dan Dickau scored 2 free throws, and that did it.
Jamaal Tinsley and Sarunas Jasikevicius combined for 31 points.
Paul Pierce scored 21, so did
Ricky Davis.
