Ramos To the D-League

Washington D.C: Washington Wizards President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has assigned second-year center Peter John Ramos to the Roanoke Dazzle of the NBA D-League. Roanoke, who is led by Head Coach Kent Davison, has been designated as the Wizards D-League affiliate for the 2005-06 season.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for P.J. to get the necessary playing time that he needs,” said Grunfeld. “Coach Davison has the reputation of being a very good teacher, and P.J. will have the chance to play against other developing young players.”

Ramos, 20, was selected by Washington in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2004 NBA Draft. A native of Puerto Rico, Ramos averaged 1.8 points and 0.7 rebounds in his rookie season. Ramos (7-3, 287) played for the Wizards 2005 Reebok Vegas Summer League team and averaged 6.2 points and 2.6 rebounds per game.

In addition to the Roanoke Dazzle (Va.), the eight-team NBA D-League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).

Wizards Interested In Another Point Guard

Washington D.C.: The Washington Wizards General Manager Shaun Callahan is interested in another Point Guard.

We asked him why and he told us that he wants Arenas just to completley be a scorer. That way he doesnt have to worry about having his assists too. We asked him who he would like and he mentioned a few people. He told us [i]"Joe Johnson is up there, hes a Pass First Point Guard or a Shoot First Point Guard. But we know he would be really hard to get. Another person is Kirk Hinrich, we really like his game, hes a terrific passer, and his basketball IQ is really high."

So far thats all we have heard of, dont be surprised if the Wizards make a move sometime soon though.

Nice matchups, I still stick with my original prediction, Jamison is gonna win everything. Interesting news that you want a point guard, can't wait to see who you are gonna get.
