Bad mouthing NLSC and the community...

wow colin..and you sure have alot of posts here in a short period of time. You know...no one is actually forcing you to be here?

Jonesy on nbalive.org forum wrote:I'm relieved to see the site up and running. I hate other sites, some of the people suck. all around.

David on nbalive.org forum wrote:I know what you mean Jonsey.. It is good to be back at the nbalive.org

And it's not only those...many comments are being made over there such as that about the NLSC. Some are being made by regulars here also and i think it's all very sickening and should stop. When did a community about patches turn into rivalries and crap? I have my theories but i don't want to be involved in pointing fingers. People can have personal disagreement with each other but don't let the community suffer because of it. I think anyone who has a problem with a perticular person..should keep it on the down low...cause expressing them causes newbies to pick sides. they come on here and see a rift..then proceed to join the "nbalive.org faction" or the "NLSC faction". People this is not what nba live patching should be about.

I personally don't dislike the nbalive.org community on a whole (i get many fine patches from there and i used to host there)...but i do dislike people telling me how to do my moderation duties. Don't come in a thread after i've made decisions and undermine my decisions....your post will be deleted. Anyone that has a problem with the way i do stuff should take it up with andrew or talk about it in NLSC issues (this board). Just to let you know....i consult andrew regularly on things i do....i've only once acted on my own. In addition, I've noticed that my account on the nbalive.org forum has been deleted...and thats cool..it only further shows what i'm talking about.

Some people complain that the threads and topics here at the nlsc aren't up to par with other places. Well guess what?...this community is about patches..not general discussions. You shouldn't even be concerned with what goes on in general discussions. It is a nba live patching community once again.

I would be sick of .org, if nlsc was offline for a long time too. I meant I was getting tired of the same forum and the same people, I know there are a lot of people that are at both, but there's still different people. I joined here cause I was getting sick of just .org. Also there are less people that are worthless flamers at .org, that probably just being that there are less overall members there.

Edit: I have "a lot of posts there in a short period of time," 752 compared to 603 or w/e it is here. I know it says I have 586 there, but if you do a search for all posts by colin826 752 results come up.[/i]

My mistake then colin. As a member of both sites..you DO know what i'm talking about right? I mean...i can't post over there and make some sort of truce...(as i said..my account is missing) but the least i can do is make it known here about whats going on. It sucks.

Welp...i've made my case...only to be shunned cause people think there isn't a problem. Fine then...let things stay the way they are. Can't blame a brother for trying.

I'd like to comment a bit more on this, since I know some of the .org guys for a long time.

I don't know what happened, but in my mind I still can't understand why people take this Internet relationship thing so seriously. I mean, how could I get angry or mad at someone I don't know personally?

I know some things Andrew and Ben (NLSC and nbalive.org's main men) did weren't right, but I still think they could be talked over.

I really don't know what to say, I just think people should stop flaming each other, posting unnecessary comments about each other's favorite patching source, and try to talk things over...

Guys used to be so friendly over there... I wish things could get back to normal once again.

Well Yohance it's easier to downplay the problem and then go back and say things about the other community. Unfortunately we're divided these days, and that's what some people were aiming for. I don't mind how things are, and as far as I see there aren't too many problems here, and that's probably because everybody stays on their side and out of eachother's way. People don't flame here any more (or rarely), and I don't think anybody here is bothered too much by the .org site...
There's the odd comment or whatever, but I don't think the guys here really care, and if everybody is happy where they are, what can you do!

Yohance, just out of interest, how come this suddenly popped up, since those quotes are pretty old?

Each site is doing its own thing. People are posting at both sites, and there's no problem with that. As long as people are making a positive contribution when they post on the NLSC, that's all I can concern myself with.

Renso you know there are worse (and more recent) comments than that, and I see where Yohance is comming from. I also see that he probably tried to use examples which wouldn't be too inflamatory but enough to bring this up so that a resolution could be sought. But I guess those examples weren't strong enough in showing that there's a problem, and personally I think that there's no need for a resolution, we're all better separated. But I do see his point.

I'm not perpetuating any rivalry or comments against the NLSC.

Right... except for the ones where you refer to the NLSC as those "idiots".
But who cares, keep things as they are, and it's all good. (y)

Welp...i agree with yah stevan. Also, both sides can make claims and find quotes to disprove others..but it's pointless to do it. Like i said in a private convo lastnight....everyone can just forget i said anything.

All I do anymore is sometimes add new features, give approval for others to do things, argue with Bob about how Tayshaun Prince could handle McGrady and the Pistons have to concetrate on the remainder of the Magic and just stay with one player on McGrady, read The Washington Times and play Civilization II too much. I don't have time

Lol, what a hectic life! I'd crack under a schedule that intense

And Yohance, how dare you make a serious post? You ranting son of a bitch j/k dude :)

I think anyone here who read both threads will realise which faction truely holds resent. As for me, no "idiots" shall "waste my time" becuase I have to play "Civilization II" and "read a newspaper". MY GOD, I HAVE TO GO! I MISSED 2 MINUTES ALREADY!!

Yohance... you are the man... I have not seen any problems with your moderating so far, being almost by yourself (other than Andrew) you are doing a great job in my opinion...

As for comments between sites... they are kind of silly :? I think any site that has to do with NBA Live is a good one... there are lots of games that don't have such a large following... and I mean i will go anywhere to get the right patch, but I like NLSC the best because it is the biggest and I have been here since live 98, and it has always been friendly to me.

So Thug.... keep up your good work and don't worry about what people say :o
