Thank you everyone!! It really makes it worthwhile to have people checking out my dynasty!

No trades planned as of yet. I think I'll be focusing on keeping most of this group of players and developing them.

Celtics make statement in Denver

Boston 120, Denver 107

DENVER, Nov. 2 (Ticker) -- Boston Celtics followed up their home win with a great away victory over Denver Nuggets. They took control in the early minutes but slipped to trail by a point after the first quarter. However, they had a 13-point lead at the half after Paul Pierce hit two threes in the last seven seconds of the second quarter. By shutting out all Nuggets players except Andre Miller, the Celtics looked comfortable and came out winners.

Paul Pierce was player of the game with 27 points plus four assists and four rebounds. Raef LaFrentz was deadly, shooting 10 for 13 to finish with 22 and 10. Tony Allen surprised everyone with 10 points in the first quarter and a total of 14. Andre Miller had a huge game for the Nuggets, scoring 29 points playing shooting guard. The rest of the Nuggets were held to small figures, Carmelo Anthony managed 18. Camby and Martin combined for just 16 points. Total rebounds were 43-28 in favour of Boston.

"There's no easy games in this league", said LaFrentz. "But tonight we felt confident we would come away with a win, and we did."

"We've improved a lot on the things I mentioned after the Nets game", said Doc Rivers. "Each player is staying with their man on defence, getting a hand up, boxing out."

Celtics return to the East Coast to face Philadelphia in two days' time.

(I lost the box score for this one, doh.)

Celtics lose big lead but pull away for the win

Philadelphia 98, Boston 107
Box score

BOSTON, Nov. 4 (Ticker) -- Boston Celtics extended their winning streak to three after beating a disorganized Philadelphia 76ers team. After a first half of great defence and fast break basketball by the Celtics, the Boston team completely lost their rhythm in the third quarter and allowed Philadelphia to cut the 15-point half time lead and tie the game at 75. It must have been very tough mentally for the Celtics, but they regrouped and got back to what they had been doing in the first half - defensive stops and getting up the court. Ricky Davis and Paul Pierce were instrumental in the Celtics' fourth quarter push, however they can count themselves a little lucky after hitting three out of four three point attempts in the final quarter.

Pierce was player of the game with 27 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals, scoring 12 of his points in the fourth quarter. Ricky Davis had 23 points, five assists and three steals. Allen Iverson had 19 points and nine assists, he could have been a bit more selfish in the first half when the rest of the team had real trouble scoring. Andre Iguodala and Kyle Korver both improved in the second half, scoring 16 each.

"It's tough when you lose a lead like that", said Ricky Davis, who made some great plays in the fourth quarter. "But we knew if we play like we did through the first two quarters we'll come away with the win."

"I'm happy about the way we responded after the third quarter", said coach Doc Rivers.

The Celtics travel to Texas to meet the San Antonio Spurs tomorrow. The Spurs have won four of their five games so far.

Great recaps man, keep it up, stinks that you had to lose both games though.

Team is looking better and better after each game, hope to see it continue. Although the win against the Sixers doesn't leave me too happy. Webber with 9 points. (N) Good luck in the future, keep the streak going.

great win over phily and great recaps. I also like your pics. Good luck for tomorrow against the spurs. But it will be tough because sa has maybe the best team in the whole nba. But, you will make it

Great to see you doing a different team than the cav's, great job so far and i'll be checking from now on. Good luck next game.

welcome to 06 dynasties...... just like your 05 dynasty, great recaps and and photos..... keep it up.....

I like the Pierce-Davis combo, they are as good as the Allen-Lewis combo. Pierce played very well. (Y) Jefferson again showing his defensive talent, I hope he can shut up Duncan when you play against the Spurs.

Thanks for watching everyone! A couple of games below, believe it or not I increased steals by five for the Spurs game and...

The sliders were really tough when I was playing exhibition games but looks like I got better! I'll have to look into them again I suppose, not to say I didn't think the San Antonio game was over at half time...

Celtics upset champion Spurs with huge comeback

San Antonio 102, Boston 110
Box score

SAN ANTONIO, Nov. 5 (Ticker) -- Boston Celtics caused a major upset by beating last year's NBA champions San Antonio Spurs. It looked all over by half time, when San Antonio were leading by 12 after Dan Dickau's long range buzzer beater, his first NBA basket as a Celtic. It was not an easy half for Boston, they could not get to the rim and Paul Pierce was handed the ball time to time for difficult jump shots. However, the Celtics turned it around in the third, with Pierce showing great determination and skill. The Celtics already led after the third quarter, and they finished the game with great defence and offence, mostly by player of the game Pierce.

The Celtics star had 39 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Raef LaFrentz also had a huge game with 20 and 14. Rebounding was Boston's strength, they grabbed numerous offensive boards to stay in the game and had 105 shots compared to Spurs' 87. Tim Duncan posted 26 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks, Tony Parker also had 26 and seven assists, while Manu Ginobili added 11 assists to his 12 points.

"I'm the captain and the leader so it's obvious the ball will be in my hands in a tough situation", said Pierce. "The first half was hard but I'm ecstatic about the way we turned it around."

"It's not an easy team to play against. They have so many great defensive players", said Doc Rivers.

Al Jefferson didn't have an easy time against Tim Duncan but got the points here.

Celtics on a roll after defeating Houston

Houston 104, Boston 115
Box score

BOSTON, Nov. 7 (Ticker) -- Boston Celtics extended their run of wins by winning another home game, this time against Houston Rockets. Boston looked to be in for a difficult night, but once Yao Ming got his second personal foul in the first quarter, it became a different game. Celtics extended their lead and Yao picked up his fourth foul in the third quarter. Yao and Tracy McGrady were the only Rockets players averaging double digits in points coming into the game, but McGrady did a great job in not letting the game slip completely. The Rockets came within five points in the final minute of the game, but Ricky Davis' drive and layup decided the game for the Celtics.

Paul Pierce was again player of the game with 22 points, four assists and four steals. He scored 14 in the first half, after which Raef LaFrentz took over the scoring, hitting deep twos and a long three. LaFrentz finished with 26 points, Ricky Davis scored 22. Tracy McGrady had 35 points, eight rebounds and four assists for the Rockets, he was only 3 for 10 from the field in the first half, but made 12 out of 15 shots in the second.

"It would have been a different game with Yao in", said Doc Rivers. "He's been in tremendous form so far this season. But once Yao or McGrady is out, it makes it a lot easier because you can play a double team without leaving the other one open."

Houston will definitely be looking for revenge next time. The Celtics have back-to-back games against Indiana next.

Sun Oct 30, 2005 2:48 pm

great win against the spurs and houston :!: you pulled off pretty big upsets. TMac torched u tho for 35, Pierce and Ricky both had 22, so that got u the win. Great job on the dynasty. I like the recaps (Y)

Sun Oct 30, 2005 8:04 pm

The Celtics are unbeatable now, you did a good job by defeating two of the top teams in the west. Now finish off the Pacers. (Y)

Mon Oct 31, 2005 12:27 am

Another couple of wins, you're on a roll! A big one against the Spurs, Duncan and Parker combined for 52 as LaFrentz and Pierce combined for 59. Then against the Rockets Davis, Pierce and LaFrentz combined for 70 points and Gerald Green's playing great off the bench. Keep on rolling.

Mon Oct 31, 2005 12:57 am

Great wins, LaFrentz had 26 points! What a game for him. Too bad you couldn't get Dan Dickau to score any points.

Tue Nov 01, 2005 6:19 am

Hello again and thanks for tuning in to my dynasty!!

This is not my usual recap but I can tell you I beat Indiana in back-to-back games. I even enabled superstar abilities on the second one but I still ran out winning by 30.

I did a lot of slider work before the dynasty and it seems I'll have to do it again. I'm not sure if I can make it challenging enough, the problem is that the big guys always seem to get their points (I've already cut their inside scoring ratings) and I don't want to end up scoring with only LaFrentz and Jefferson...

So I'll have to see what I can still do with the game. I want it to be a challenge not a walkover.

X, Gomes, Reed and Scalabrine might be preferred over Green in real life but in the game Green is the best scorer and I want to develop him.

I've had trouble scoring with Dickau (he's a bit slow) but he got five in the second Pacers game.

I'll come back and tell if I managed to make it harder, could be tonight or it could be a couple of days.

Tue Nov 01, 2005 6:21 am

Maybe try to get rid of some players and sign some free agents?

Tue Nov 01, 2005 10:07 am

am interested to see what you can do with cutting down inside scoring numbers as it is just too easy....let us know
