depending how milicic goes, i think mcdyess could be traded halfway through the season. we need a decent shooter, and we arent exactly short on talls.

McDyess though is proven in the playoffs, under pressure. Even if Milicic does really well, he could fade in the playoffs (ala Jamal Mashburn). If we get rid of McDyess all we have is Milicic and Davis, and Davis is there for the playoffs really.

I'm still hoping for Carlos Delfino to show what he can do on the court.

I love him.

Hes an all-out energy kinda guy that can really jump and dunk the ball. But he can play some good D and he has a ice jumper (4/4 from 3 vs Bucks). I like his attitude tho he doesnt care about PT or the score all he cares about is going out there and playing his ass off.

And trading Dyess this year would be stoopid.

i was just watching an old tape of the Pistons from 2002 and when the bench unit of Damon Jones, Williamson and Barry came on, the Pistons went on runs.

Barry and Williamson were playing as if they were teammates for the last 10yrs. I guess McDyess is our Williamson replacement but we still don't have a Barry. Unless that can be Delfino. The things Barry did were amazing....he was the Pistons best creator, even better than Stackhouse, and he had a jump shot and D. This might sound as an exaggeration but Barry was capable of 20ppg, he had all the tools except selfishness.

good ol' prince being signed, also, dupree traded for a 2nd round pick, so acker gets the 15th spot (Y)

rumor has it that pistons are interested in Nene at the end of the year... not sure why though (unless davis/mcdyess are leaving)

interesting about Nene...but that would mean we'd have Nene and Milicic off the bench...two inexperienced players.

I dont see how he'd fit in. The bench is set for the next few years and we'd have to trade a swing man (Delfino, Mo town) to get Nene and i dont think it would work out. :?

Interesting rumor though...

PISTONS CORNER: After a quiet camp, Big Ben peals forth

November 3, 2005

BY KRISTA LATHAM
FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER

For the past month, Pistons center Ben Wallace has kept a low profile.

He declined media requests. He promised he'd get to the pen-yielding, microphone-grasping posse later. He smiled to himself as he sauntered in the locker room, sans comment on the new coach, his new teammates or getting back to the Finals.

Was it media hatin'? Was he hiding something?

No. It was just Wallace getting readjusted to life in training camp.

"I haven't been through a training camp in a year, so I just wanted to get through that training camp, see what we had going on," said Wallace, who missed camp last year recovering from an appendectomy. "Give the young guys a chance to shine."

Wallace declared himself open for business before scoring eight points and grabbing 10 rebounds in Wednesday's opening-night victory over the Sixers.

He shed light on a variety of issues, including playing in a contract year.

The Pistons' center will be an unrestricted free agent next summer, and there's already speculation about what will happen. Chicago and Atlanta are rumored to be interested. But Wallace said with a sneaky smile that he's not worried about that.

"Nope," Wallace said. "Not at all. Not at all. My gig is to go out there and play basketball and not worry about anything else but trying to get my crown back. That's all that's on my mind."

He also said he sees himself as a Piston for life.

"You know the answer to that," Wallace said. "I think I came here and played the best basketball of my career here. This team and this organization opened their arms up to me, and they let me come in when only a select few other teams around the league were willing to do that. And you know they stepped up to the plate. So there's no question where my heart is at."

What else has Wallace kept to himself this fall?

He said he thought camp went well and was encouraged by the team's new crop of young players. But he has not yet formed an opinion on the new-and-improved bench.

"I don't know -- that's why we play the games," Wallace said. "We've got a new coach, new system, got a couple new guys, so regardless of how good you are as individuals, it's going to take a team effort."

He sees himself working well into new coach Flip Saunders' offensive plans, although he bristled when asked whether it's similar to how Larry Brown "let" him be a part of the offense.

"Larry 'let' me be a part of the offense?" Wallace said. "That was deep right there. When I'm on the floor, I've got to be part of the offense. There's just no other way to have it. I think Larry did a great job of throwing little wrinkles out there. He called my number here and there and got me the ball in places where I can be effective. If I'm out on the floor, I'm going to be part of the offense. Unless it's Rick Carlisle, and I'm just standing around."

And he's convinced this team could be as good as the last championship team.

"Sometimes, when you have a new coach, a new system, a new group of guys, it takes time to jell together," Wallace said. "But there's no doubt in my mind that we're eventually going to come together as a team and make that title run."

Pistons got outplayed by Celts, still one the game though.

Milicic only played 4 mins, but still, those are the 4 mins he would of NEVER received under Brown unless the game was irrelevantr at that point. Still scored 2 pnts, 1reb, 1stl, 1 blk.

Hamilton was scoring again but has to lower those TO's.
