This dynasty will include: pictures, player info, player stats, team stats, player magazines, etc. At the end of each month, this dynasty will include: Mvp canidates, teams that are hot/not, player stats, rookies stats, etc. Be sure to check out this dynasty, and post!

Allen Houston RETIRING?!?!

Postby Gator on Mon Oct 24, 2005 6:12 am

HOUSTON RETIRES:

Image

Allan Houston, one of New York's finest guard has retired on 17/10/05. Houston, A two time all-star, took part in the 2000 Olympic team, was one of the NBA's best outside shooters before his unbelievable knee soreness. He was limited to 70 games over the last two seasons.

"I did everything I possibly could to get back and finish my career the way I would have liked to," Houston said at the Knicks' practice facility. "My injuries just wouldn't let me do it."

Allan Houston, the 34 year old only appeared to play 20 games last season and averaged 11.9 points, his worst season since he was a rookie!

Houston averaged 17.3 points during his 12 NBA seasons, including a career-high 22.5 in 2002-03, his last full season. He shot 40.2 percent from 3-point range.

Houston helped New York to an improbable spot in the 1999 NBA Finals, when his running jumper in the closing seconds of the deciding Game 5 knocked off the top-seeded Miami Heat in the first round.

"I always wanted to be in those moments when you could have an opportunity to win the game," Houston said.

Allan Houston, heroes to most, traitor to some, but loved by all.
*Thanks to ESPN for this great article*

After wards, the media had a chance to ask Houston some questions:

Image

Media: Allan, how do you feel about retiring?

[Allan Houston's voice]Allan Houston: Well, I didn't feel I was going to be in a such situation that I was going to be retiring because of my injuries. I wanted to live a legacy, be a legend. But then, I had to the right thing and retire so that my injuries wouldn't get worse.[/voice]

Media: Allan, when did you feel like you were going to retire. As in what year?

[Allan Houston's voice]Allan Houston: I always wanted the best for me. But I never really knew how many years I wanted to play for. Just looking for the right time and I guess today was the right day![/voice]

Media: Why do you like shooting for the outside so much?!? (I got this from a post when they were interviewing Vince Carter about leaving Toronto )

[Allan Houston's voice]Allan Houston: Excuse me? Any other questions?[/voice]

Media:What was your favourite year you ever played in?!

[Allan Houston's voice]Allan Houston: You know what? I had many favorite years. For example 1999 playoffs when we against the powerful Heat. Also, I can't forget about 2001, when the Toronto Raptors have clinched the series against us. I hope the Knicks can reunite and come back to the playoffs, where they belong.[/voice]

Media: Oh great! Who did you like playing with the most when you were part of the New York Knicks?

[Allan Houston's voice]Allan Houston: Ugh, there are so many. Latrell Sprewall of course, he was great. Also, I liked playing with Stephon Marbury and Jamal Crawfard. Great talent! But there are many more great players as well. Any more questions?

Media: Nope, hope you do well in your future and we will always remember your spectacular memories!

[Allan Houston's voice]Allan Houston: Thanks a lot. See you guys around.

Next update will be on my dynasty news, schedule, etc.

I am a Knicks fan since 93 so i wish you win the championship.
Which roster you playing with because i need Jackie Butler in my team ?
have you tweaked the player stats or the sliders ?

ps. i think when you simulat the quarters with 12 min the result is not realistic

Play some games :P Good start I liked the interview, also I would play longer than 7 min quarters, if you dont have the time for anymore maybe try longer quarters but intervene after the 1st or 2nd. I always play 12 and if I dont have the time for a full 48min game is just intervene.

A good tip for better coverage is to play the first quarter, take like 5 pictures in it, then write a recap right after you play the first quarter, do the same thing for the other quarters. It's very time-consuming, but more people will check out your dynasty. (Y)
