Tutu Training Time

Tyronn Tutu had just finished working with the player he was working on before. Now it's time for him to work on somebody else. And this is what they'll work on. Tyronn Tutu will now work with Mehmet Okur to improve his defensive skills. Hopefully this will add to his Offensive abilities so he can become a better all-round player.

The month that was
With John Stockton

Image
(Props to Devin112 for the TV Show)

Hey, John Stockton here on KJZZ Sports, channel 14. It was a difficult month for the Jazz and if I had to sum this up in one word, it would be, injuries.

Image

If you look at the schedule, the Jazz lost all their games they played on Tuesdays and Fridays but won all the games they played on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. So the Jazz ended up with an 8-7 record to finish the month.

Player Stats

Image

If you look, Mehmet Okur, CJ Miles, Kris Humphries, Milt Palacio and Matt Harpring are the only players to play all 15 games that month. And thanks from livedynasty.com, here are the Weighted Birdie Scores

Image

Andrei Kirilenko is first with a Player NBA.com Efficiency Rating of 34.60. A Raw Birdie Score of 31.40. A Raw Birdie Per Min score of 1.20 and a Weighted Birdie Score pf 20.93. He's clearly been the star of the Jazz this month.

Jazz Among the League Leaders

Andrei Kirilenko:
11th in Points
1st in Points Per Game
11th in Field Goals Made
Equal 1st in Free Throws Made
Equal 8th in Free Throws Attempted
8th in Free Throw Percentage
Equal 3rd in Blocks
1st in Blocks Per Game

Mehmet Okur:
Equal 8th in Field Goals Made

Lorinza Harrington:
3rd in Free Throw Percentage
Equal 6th in Steals
Equal 4th in Steals Per Game

Gordan Giricek:
5th in Free Throw Percentage

Greg Ostertag:
Equal 14th in Blocks Per Game

Power Rankings

Here are the first Power Rankings of the year.

Image

As you can see, the 2005 champions, the San Antonio Spurs, have come out firing this year with their new acquintances of Michael Finley, Francisco Oberto and Nick "The Quick" Van Exel. The Jazz started their Power Rankings at the 9th position which isn't bad considering their situation and their injuries

MVP Candidates + Players of the Month

The Current MVP Candidates are:

Image

Paul Pierce is having the month of his career, nearly averaging a double-double. Baron Davis is also playing exceptionally well for the Warriors, I must say well done to the Warriors for trading for him. Yao Ming is haveing a break-out season, averaging 27 points per game. Shaquille O'Neal and Elton Brand round-up the group with their exceptional strength.

East Player of the Month

Image
Like I said, it was a month to remember for Pierce.

West Player of the Month

Image
Baron Davis is trying his hardest for the Golden State Warriors

East Rookie of the Month

Image
Andrew Bogut, who was the number one pick, is of course dominating for his new team, the Bucks

West Rookie of the Month

Image
With Troy Murphy injured, Ike Diogu was asked to start and he delivered, averaging 10 points per game in that month.

Season Standings

Atlantic

Image
RJ, VC and J-Kidd have helped the Nets to a nice 12-3 record at the end of November, the rest of the teams are quite close, with the Knicks last in the division as expected

Central

Image
2004 Champions, the Detroit Pistons, are on top of their division by half a game, with the Pacers and Cavaliers snapping at their heels. The Bulls are close but Andrew Bogut's Bucks are last with a 1-13 record.

Southeast

Image
Probably the weakest division in the league, the Orlando Magic are just ahead of the Miami Heat for division leader. The Hawks and Bobcats have only 3 wins each and look like they are heading for the Lottery once again.

Northwest

Image
Probably the closest division in the league, the Portland Trailblazers are equal with the Denver Nuggets but the Nuggets have played 2 more games. The Utah Jazz' 3 game losing streak lost the Division lead for them but look for them to bounce back. The Timberwolves and Supersonics both have chances to make the top.

Pacific

Image
The LA Clippers have plenty of Los Angeles bandwagoners now as they have a 10-5 record to lead their division and the LA Lakers have a pitiful 1-12 record. The Kings and the Warriors both have chances to take top spot and the Suns are struggling.

Southwest

Image
This division is by far the most stacked division with 4 teams with 10 wins already. The World Champions San Antonio have an envious 13-2 record and look play-off bound but the young New Orleans Hornets only have 3 wins and it looks like lottery for them.

The Month ahead for the Jazz

Image

The Jazz have a long month ahead of them, with a few key players about to return from injury. Their first game is against the struggling Los Angeles Lakers and after that, Carlos Boozer makes his return. They have a nice 5 home games in a row then a 5 game road trip. They better make the most of their home games.

Thanks for tuning in, best wishes for Robert Skrnjug and the Utah Jazz organization, enjoy you're break, John Stockton

Yeah, that's a good idea... unless you want to win NOW.
But it could make a big difference whether you trade him now or only at the trade deadline, not only could it make a difference like a #3 or #7 spot, but (more appropriate in the Jazz' situation) make or miss the playoffs. To me it seems like he'll get injured a couple more times this season.
Don't want to push you into anything but I'd definately look into that. Try trading for Shawn Marion or maybe even AK+someone for Dirk+scrub. :o :D :?

ps. sorry for the long post, I'm at school. :(

Thanks, lol but narrh, i'll stick with AK47.. he's the future.

Kobe and co. comes to AK47 and co.

Image

The Los Angeles Lakers travel to Utah to verse the Jazz as they Lakers are having one of their worst seasons in history.

Starting Line-Ups

Image

Key Match-Up

Andrei Kirilenko vs. Lamar Odom

Both of these guys are tall and athletic, who'll win?

1st Quarter

The Jazz began this game beautifully as they went on a 12-2 run. The Lakers began to play a lot more stronger, halving the deficit to 5 points. After that it was pretty much even for the rest of the quarter as the stars from both teams were pretty quiet. The Jazz began to make a lot of mistakes in the final 2 minutes of the quarter but they ended the quarter ahead 29-25.

2nd Quarter

The quarter started with Odom making an impossible adjusted shot then Ron Mercer answered back with one himself and he got the and 1. The Jazz struggled for a tiny bit but then Andrei Kirilenko caught fire and was finding a lot of ways to score. The Jazz continued to try to stretch the lead beyond reach but Kobe and the Lakers found ways to score so the Jazz lead was just under double digits. The lead was cut down to three points but AK47 managed to find some more ways to score. Andrei Kirilenko continued his strong play as the Jazz ended the quarter ahead 56-47.

Key Players at the Half

Chris Mihm and Andrei Kirilenko

3rd Quarter

The Lakers came out firing with 4 points but the Jazz quickly put the lead out to 11 points. AK47 lit fire as he drained 2 3 pointers, including one on a fast break, in a row plus a buzzer beating dunk to extend the lead to 17 points. AK47 went on the bench and the Lakers scored 5 in a row but a CJ Miles 3 pointer insured the Jazz' lead. AK47 continued to hit shot clock beating jumpers as his team powered into the 4th quarter ahead 85-68.

4th Quarter

The Jazz had no troubles closing out this game, the Lakers continued their horrible season form and the Jazz continued their red hot play. The Jazz won this game in style by 116-94.

Yeah i was surprised.. it's probably because of the 3 games he missed.. he'll be up there in no time.. he just needs more rebounds and maybe 0.5 higher steal and assist average. Yeah I needed that win badly

wow... 1-13 lakers. .haha

AK47 does have great hops so i expect him to dunk well. Yeah AK will be mvp candidate in no time.. and Bill Walton's line is great to use... i dont know what other great word to use than rap/raping

Yeah they are weak at that position and i got McKie into foul trouble early so they had to play Wafer and Vujacic at that position and Lorinza/Miles raped them  Thanks for the compliment... oh yeah i stuffed up with the jerseys.. i didn't realise .. what i did was i scrolled through the Lakers jersey for some reason and then i put it back on a "non-white" one cos the white ones are usually home and the colour confused me... oh well Yellow, purple, the lakers lost

Utah travel to Portland for Boozer's returning game

Image

The Utah Jazz will travel to Portland to verse the Trailblazers for Carlos Boozer's comeback game from injury.

Starting Line-Ups

Image

Key Match-Up

Carlos Boozer vs. Zach Randolph

Boozer is returning from injury but will he stop the improving Zach Randolph.

1st Quarter

Both teams started the game quite evenly with Carlos Boozer scoring his first basket in 4 weeks. Both teams continued to exchange leads throughout the quarter. Greg Ostertag made 3 blocks in 3 plays in a row to kind of extend the lead for the Jazz. The Jazz managed to take the first quarter 27 to 21.

2nd Quarter

The quarter started even with Zach Randolph dominating the boards for the Trailblazers but the Jazz were doing the scoring and they extended their lead out to double digits. Sebastien Telfair was creating problems for the Jazz but some CJ Miles shooting kept the Jazz lead intact. Some excellent penetration from the Blazers forced the lead down to 6 points but a few lucky breaks on defence gave the Jazz back their double digit lead. The quarter was even because the Blazers had drawn 11 fouls so they could shoot it out from the free throw line. Darius Mile hit a shot with 1.3 seconds left then Milt Palacio hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer but it wasn't counted. The Jazz ended the quarter ahead 58-47.

Key Players at the Half

Andrei Kirilenko and Sebastien Telfair

3rd Quarter

Zach Randolph continued to dominate the boards but the Jazz still managed to keep their lead. Both sides began to excite the crowd but the Jazz were still the ones infront but it was a good show to watch with blocks and dunks. The Jazz suddenly made a breakout and finished the quarter ahead 85-68.

4th Quarter

The Blazers started the quarter by decreasing the deficit to 11 points as the Jazz were resting but an Andrei Kirilenko 3 pointer made sure that the Jazz lead wasn't going anywhere. But the Jazz made more offensive and defensive mistakes and eventually their lead was cut to 6 points. With a 1:50 to go, the Jazz lead was cut down to 3 thanks to a 3 point play from Darius Miles. A Mehmet Okur lay-up gave the Jazz a 5 point lead with 1:34 to go in the game then Zach Randolph nailed a fade away in the post with 1:24 left. Martell Webster pushed CJ Miles over to give him an easy 2 with 1:12 to go so the Blazers called a timeout which gave Telfair an easy lay-up with 1:09 left to go. AK47 came up with a lay-up with 54.8 to go then the Blazers called a timeout and Randolph missed the shot and the Jazz got possesion of the ball then the Blazers began fouling. AK-47 stole the ball and that was it for the Blazers. Telfair drained a 3-pointer but it was too late as the Jazz took this game 118-111.

Player of the Game

AK47 performed beautifully scoring 47 points and 8 rebounds.

Heh, thanks, Jugs.

C.J. Miles also won the highschool shootout with Webster too. It sure as hell is starting to look like C.J. Miles was the steal of the draft. 8-)
