SEATTLEThe Seattle Sonics decided to trade Damien Wilkens and Mateen Cleaves to The Denver Nuggets for Voshon Lenard and Linas Kleiza. The trade was approved Wednesday night after both teams agreed and commissioner approved it. Vo Lenard and Linas Kleiza is expected to be in Seattle on Friday and will be in action against their last team, the nuggets, next Tuesday.

“I’m really happy that we were able to bring in a great outside shooter Lenard and a rookie Linas Kleiza, which will make us better on defense” – said Seattle’s GM on the press conference.

“Me and Kleiza both like the option to move to Seattle” – said Vo – “I know I wouldn’t get a lot of minutes, because Julius Hodge would prove himself as a better shooting guard, I know I would get enough minutes in here, since Ray Allen isn’t what he used to be 5 years ago, and needs more rest, I’ll step up and fill his spot”.

Voshon Lenard Averaged 14.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg and 2.1 apg in 30.6 minutes per game in 03-04 season. Scoring average was second-highest of his career (14.3 in ’02-03). Scored in double figures 54 times, including 13 20+ games and four games with 30 or more. Champion of the Footlocker 3-Point Shootout at All-Star Weekend (2/14), edging out two-time defending Shootout champion Peja Stojakovic 18-16 in the final round

Linas Kleiza was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers, 27th overall and was included in trade – Jarrett Jack for Linas Kleiza and Ricky Sanchez.

Here are new Voshon’s and Linas’ jerseys:

What does Seattle have to do to get the Win? The Sonics have to play good defense on Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin. Don't let thouse 2 guys drive inside or they'll explode on them.

I think that trade was dumb, you could have signed a good free agent instead. Now you lost 2 millons in contracts.

Look this:

Image

With that trade and without the other you could have more than 4 millons to spend in free agents. Besides they would get bigger and stronger.

Anyway, with your trade and this one you would have 2,41 and with that you should look for a good free agent that is asking for a long term contract and do this as an example (Before fire Voshkul):

1) Trading my 2 best big men(Fortson and Collison) that can play both great on defense and on offense for pretty much one player(Brezec), Ely and Voskuhl are useless
2)Follow NBA News a lil more and u would figure out that Lopez is on the grizzs!
3)I brought in a guy with a superstar icon that is one of the best 3 point shooters in the game, and I got rid of Wilkens which was horrible on offense and wasn't much help on D!

GAME RECAP

SEATTLE - As the game started both teams were hoping for a win. The 1st quarter was very close. Denver's new and improved team showed a lot of skills. The Sonics could barely hold the Nuggs on offense. The newest Sonic Voshon Lenard made 2 3's in a row in the 1st. In the 2nd quarter the Nuggets were playing terrific Defense and the Sonics got a lot of lucky baskets. Once again, Vladimir Radmanovic was pulling down most of the rebounds. At the Half the Sonics were losing by 5. In the 3rd the things gotten even worse for Seattle. Denver crushed them with their fast breaks and inside baskets. Even the time outs by Weiss did not help. In the 4th Sonics played evenly with the Nuggets, but it wasn't enough for the W. "We played horribly, and the only thing we deserve right now is the beating from our coach" - said Ray Allen after the game.

yea, and it didn't cost me much...murray was a non factor on the team( with 2-4 points every game), Fortson was good on boards, but didn't score a lot.!

GAME RECAP

SEATTLE - Ray Allen led the Sonics with 33 points to beat the Charlotte Bobcats. Newcomer Jamaal Magloire scored 14 points and grabbed 13 boards. "I really enjoy playing with this team, they have great offensive game, and i give them the defense that they need" - said Jamaal. Ray Allen wasn't a threat from outside in the game. He only made 2 3 pointers, but had a lot of drive-ins and earned fouls, he was almost perfect from the free throw line, 9 out of 10. The 'Cats had an answer of their own. Even though Emeka Okafor didn't have a great game, finishing with 13 points and5 rebounds, Kareem Rush stepped up and made a big contribution. He scored 20 points with perfect from free throw line, 8-8. Through all 3 quarters the teams played fairly evenly. The Sonics were playing "Playmaker" on offense, and Luke Ridnour was the playmaker. He dished out 5 assists, and scored 10 points, most of the points he scored in the 4th. Then in the 4th, the 'Cats were out of breath and the Sonics were able to finish the off. A couple of turnovers made the score almost unreachable for the Bobcats. But they tried to come back. "We have to give them credit too. They played good on defense. I think that Emeka Okafor will develop in one of the best PF's in the game" - said coach Bob Weiss. The Sonics away trip is finally over, and they go back home for the home opener against the Hawks.
PLAYER OF THE GAME

Ray Allen - 33 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists.

Great win man (Y) You can start Evans' rebounds at power forward position and use Vlad's 3s as his backup...
