I've had the last 2 MK games on Xbox, they're cool to begin with but the fun lasts for about a month.

True...and this game is a good sign that they will try to move the franchise in a new direction. I'm thinking if they can make a nice action RPG with the expansive nature of KOTOR (knights of the old republic) it could breath life into the rich MK universe.

Mortal Kombat mixed with KOTOR would be the best video game in history. To be honest the only reason I bought the last one was because I knew Liu Kang was unlockable (Y) I was so pissed off that they killed him.

But there was a zombie or sth Liu Kang, right? And you could change his outfit to make him look like the real one.

That was only in the last game. I unlocked Zombie Liu Kang which was interesting, he had chains and shit like that flying around when he did moves... it took fucking ages to unlock the costume to make him look normal, and by the time I did I was sick of the game.

I'm tempted to check out some of the latest Mortal Kombats, but I'm a huge fan of the original series. I know the darker storyline makes the game much more serious, the graphics are better and so on, but there was a certain charm to the games that had the more comical edge, specifically Mortal Kombat 3/Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

I'm playing this right now on my ps2 and it's really fun, kinda short though. If u unlock the other characters and play with in the story mode, you'll get the same story as the main characters Liu Kang and Kung Lao.
Classic MK2 is also unlockable to play!

I'm a big MK fan, but not into RPGs. I played MK Mythologies and took it back within a week. This sounds like a rental.

I agree with ya 100%.. I started losing interest when the robotic fighters started coming out

I'm still tempted to try this game out tho.. I saw a ad for it but it didn't look that great..
