Game Recap

The Black team started off great. Fitch was passing very well. Barron was playing the post great. And Walsh and Rice were shooting terrific. The 2nd quarter came, the White team went on a 12-4 run. But Black bounced back alittle. At the end of the halfs, Walsh and Wright were the key players at the halfs. In the 3rd Quarter, the White killed the black team. White kept getting offensive rebounds, blocks, defensive rebounds and etc. Wright was driving like an animal, and Simien was killing the rebounding margin. Rice started a run with 3:00 minutes in the fourth with Black down by 14. Darius hit a jumper, stole the ball and layed it up. Then he stole the inbound pass and drilled a 3. But White called a Timeout and Wright sealed the game by drilling a 3 and getting fouled. The White team won the game, 69-59. Dorell Wright took POG Award with 27 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 4 steals. Hopefully Black team can bounce back.

Game Recap

I controlled the White Team
WOW. This was an exciting game. I had alot of fun with this. This game started off incredibly close. They exchanged shots and misses. To end the first, the score 15-13 Black Team winning, Kapono hit a shot at the buzzer, just in front of the halfcourt line, a 40 foot shot, SPLASH! The White Team were in the lead, 15-16 going into the 2nd quarter. Black team was agresive everywhere in this quarter. Rebounding, Blocking, Stealing shooting, Fast breaks etc... Darius Rice led the offense, but it was Earl Barron who led the defense. That quarter alone, Rice had 11 points, and Barron had 7 rebounds along with 4 blocks. The Black team beat the WHite team that quarter, 17-12, Going into the third the score was 32-28. In the third, both teams were connecting, Walsh led the Black Teams offense with a 10 point quarter, and Wright led the white teams offense with 12 points. But going into the 4th the score was 52-50, Black Team was winning surprisingly. Now the 4th quarter was here. This was a GREAT oppritunity to show there clutchness ability. We saw how Rice almost helped Black beat the White on Wednesday, could he help them maintain the lead this time around? Dorell Wright started off with a crossover on Emmett and slammed it. Then Kapono stole the ball from Guard Kevin Braswell and Kapono drilled a three. White team now are up by 3. With 1:20 left, the black team was down by 2. But Darius Rice hit 2 consecutive threes to help them take a 4 point lead. Thats when Haslem started to get into the game. He posted Rice and Barron up. With 20 seconds left, the score 70-68, Black Team winning. White had the ball. Braswell fed Simien the ball, he slammed it home, 70-70 with 12 seconds left. The inbound pass went to Emmett, he got stripped from Wright who brought it up court and slammed it home while drawing a foul!! 70-72, White now winning, Wright his his Free Throw with 3 seconds left. Black had 1 timeout. They used it. The inbound pass went to Walsh who put up a quick three....He misses it, WHITE TAKES THE SERIES!

BLACK TEAM STATS

Earl Barron - 9/13/1
Darius Rice - 20/9/1
Matt Walsh - 22/3/2
Andre Emmett - 8/8/1
Gerald Fitch - 10/3/6

WHITE TEAM STATS

Wayne Simien - 12/10/1
Udonis Haslem - 15/12/2
Jason Kapono - 9/3/3
Dorell Wright - 21/7/3
Kevin Braswell - 6/3/1

You do such a good job tracking everything, man I swear if you did this on the PC and posted up nice screens this would be a top dynasty.

Regardless, it's top class in my book.

The Miami HEAT announced today that Carnival Cruise Lines has become the title sponsor of the Hurricane Katrina Relief Game on Monday, October 10. The proceeds from the game, in which the Miami HEAT will take on the Houston Rockets, will be donated to the American Red Cross and a to be determined charity on behalf of the HEAT, the Spurs and the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA).
In becoming the title sponsor of the game, Carnival has agreed to purchase all of the tickets that remain following Tuesday’s individual game ticket on sale event. Carnival’s ticket purchase guarantees that the game will be sold out, ensuring that the donation to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts will top the $1 million mark.
“I am honored that Carnival Cruise Line will ensure that the maximum amount of money be donated to Hurricane Katrina relief,” said Micky Arison, Carnival Corporation & plc Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “It’s crucial in this time of need that everyone play their part and do whatever they can to help the victims of such a devastating event.”
Carnival will make a number of the tickets available to the families of their employees. The remaining tickets will be distributed by the HEAT Community Affairs department to local community groups, schools and other worthy organizations.

Read this from Rice, its in realy life. I thought I would just add it to my dynasty

Tough road back to NBA for Darius Rice

Ira Winderman From The Sun Sentinel wrote:After failing to make an NBA team out of college a year earlier and then getting by on a minor-league salary of $24,000 from a team in Fort Myers, the nephew of NFL legend Jerry Rice was about to cash in.

The pay this time would be $20,000 a month, for two months, enough to replenish the bank account for another stab at the NBA.

The results were, to say the least, encouraging.

In a two-game tryout, he averaged 55 points and 16 rebounds.

But back home, the Dallas Mavericks suddenly were interested, offering a berth on their summer-league roster for a July tryout camp.

They wanted Rice. And Rice wanted the Mavericks.

But his new employer in Qingdao wanted more, claiming a two-month contract was in place.

Rice's adviser, former FBI agent Doug McCary, told Rice nothing had been put into writing.

So the 6-foot-10 Mississippi native went back to his hotel, prepared to take another shot at the NBA, hopeful about the looming tryout with the Mavericks.

He went to the lobby and requested his passport. The request, he said, was denied.

He requested access to his safe-deposit box, to retrieve his own cash. The answer, he said, again was no.

"The owner of the team told them not to give it to me," was Rice's understanding.

So he returned to his room, running up $3,000 in cell phone calls to McCary.

REALLY interesting Story, if you want the rest here Darius Rice Story

TRADE-TALKS

October 8 2005 - The Miami HEAT have had many trade talks with the Memphis Grizzlies. The deal that is close to becoming done is that the Miami HEAT will send, Forward James Posey, Forward Antoine Walker, and Forward Shandon Anderson to the Memphis GRIZZLIES for Guard Dahntey Jones, Rookie Forward Hakim Warrick, and Center Lorenzen Wright.

Were still not sure if this deal will go through, but GM Shaun Callahan says "I think this would be a great trade. Our salary cap is ridiculous, and our team is stacked, which I like, but I want Wright to get some playing time. With Posey and Walker he wont be getting playing time. But if Walker and Posey leave, then Wright might start."
