NHL 06 (EA Sports) vs. NHL 2K6 (2K SPorts)

IGN gave NHL 2K6 better ratings than NHL 06, and I think it's bullsh**. I have both games and I have to say NHL 2K6 sucks sooo much. NHL 06 is better gameplay wise and graphics wise, even the soundtrack is better. The layout (the look) for NHL 06 (EA Sports) is a lot nicer than NHl 2K6's, so much better. I mean, EA Sports puts features in their games that are soo much better than the features in 2 games.

To be honest, I've been playing EA's hockey since NHL 96. Only about last year with NHL 2k5 I noticed that there was another hockey game...I really didn't like it since I don't know, something was bothering me with it. I didn't find it "releastic" as ppl stated...I just found it SLOOOW...

Though NHL 06' is just an arcady type of game of which I'm trying to steer away, but you know what, people are saying that NHL 06' is better than 2K this year, so I'm probably going to just stick with NHL 06' now. Ill just have to put in the custom sliders to see if it's going to improve any better.

After playing some more of NHL 06, it actually is a very good game. Although it looks just like last year's version, with very similar animations, it's soooo damn realistic. I've noticed all the little things that really made this game realistic, and I think EA did an excellent job of focusing on gameplay this year.

A lot of people really don't know what the "Realism" 2K series was than EA's. With the 2K series games, it realistic due to the fact that it feels like and looks like you're playing that sport, since it produces realistic stats and just feels right.

With EA, they catch you by deploying flashy animation and and the skill shots?? How often or not you see NHL players do skill shots like those seen in NHL 06?? EA's games are more about the finesse of the sport, and if you're a realistic junkie like me, that doesn't really interest me all that much. You know why? One of my friends told me that EA doesn't want injuries on its game. So you rarely get any injuries in MADDEN  . Even though football has got to be one of the most physically demanding sport out there. I went through one season where the league only suffered from 10 injuries

With NHL 06, users are complaining about the injuries only being sore wrists or bruised hips, but no broken, fractured, lacirated injuries. Why? Because EA doesn't want to represent the grimmer side of playing in a highly competitive sport.

And I mean, if you play a game of NHL 06', and watch a hockey game afterwards, you'll probably be surprised at how sloppy the game really is in real life...but EA's always giving you picture perfect skating, dribbling, tackling and it's just not realistic in that sense. You can tell if a game is realistic by not it's animation, but stats, gameplay and how it represents the REAL thing in REAL life.

Well I just bought NHL 06 for Xbox today..it's not bad.. I just dont like the difficulty levels, easy is just way too easy and medium is a giant step up.. the deke's have deffinately improved big time but I wish EA would've spent more time on the graphics. Gameplay is much much better I noticed too.. one thing that really sucks is the national team jerseys.. they're not authentic (n)

It's a big step up, but after a few games, it becomes pretty easy. Hard is just too much.

I think Ea did a better job than last year. 05 was totally unrealistic, too much hitting and you had limited chances to score. NHL 06 is realistic but you get scores 10-6 if playing on medium, so Difficult setting is the best. Anyway go to www.doubleminor.net its the best NHL community next to NHL-depot.

what i hate is no matter what level I play it on, i can get shots on goal like this 60-55 or close to that. Couldn't they make it so that it's almost impossible to control the puck from end to end or at least make it really difficult to pull of shots? (not blocking them)
