Cavs finally fill empty GM seat

Cleveland, Ohio - Hey guys, its Stu Scott, checkin in for Sportscenter. After several weeks, the Cavs finally filled the empty GM seat, with Zac Mousoulis, ex NBDL GM.
I dunno bout you but I like the way this guy does things. Hes straight forward, and even in his press conference he said that hes not gonna sit back and get used to his new job. "Theres no time to waste."
This gives all the Cavs fans out there something to be excited about. Im sure I'll be checkin back soon with some Cleveland news, as the signing period for Free Agents starts soon.
Catch ya'll later.

Cavs open signing period with huge double signing
New York, New York City - Welcome to NBA Action, Im Spero Dedes, live from New York City. We have a jam packed pre-season special for you tonight, but first, since its the newest news we are going to go to the story on the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Today, after less than a week on the job, new Cleveland GM, Zac Mousoulis has announced in a press conference, also with the new coach Mike Brown, the signing of Larry Hughes and Donyell Marshall.
This is finally some good news for the Cleveland front office, and the organization.

Hughes, 26, averaged career highs of 22.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and a league-leading 2.89 steals in 61 games (61 starts) last season in Washington. The 6-5, 184-pound guard was named to the NBA’s All-Defensive First Team and posted the highest steals average in the NBA since Scottie Pippen had 2.94 steals per game in 1994-95. In addition, he was the only player in the league to average 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals.

Marshall, 32, will enter his 12th NBA season with career averages of 12.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 block in 28.3 minutes per game. Last season in 65 games (two starts), Marshall put up 11.5 points and 6.6 rebounds on .443 (262-592) shooting from the field including 151-363 (.416) from beyond the arc as he set career highs in three-point field goals made, attempted and percentage. The 6-9, 230-pound forward ranked 11th in the league in three-point percentage and 13th in three-point field goals made. Among forwards in the NBA, he ranked first in three-point percentage and fourth in three-point field goals made. On March 13 vs. Philadelphia, he tied the NBA record for most three-pointers in a game with 12, including five in the fourth quarter. In that game, he scored a career-best 38 points, to go along with 10 rebounds in just 28 minutes.

Another double signing for the Cavs
New York, New York City - Welcome to NBA Action, Im Spero Dedes, live from New York City.
Its the second week of the signing period, and teams have been going crazy with signings.
Unlike last year, there havent been half as many trades, but the signings have been coming in by the minute.
One busy team, who signed a duo of players last week, resigned one of their own and added a much needed outside shooting point guard.
Yes, Im talking about Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Damon Jones being signed by the rejuvinated Cavaliers.

“Damon has proven himself to be an impact player,” Mousoulis said. “He is a talented, playoff-tested veteran who will be a great fit on the court and in the locker room with our group of guys.”
“Damon will be a great addition to our core group,” Cavaliers’ Head Coach Mike Brown said. “His character, his ability to shoot the basketball from the perimeter and his playmaking skills will be a solid addition to our team.”

“Zydrunas has been, and will continue to be one, of the top centers in the NBA,” Mousoulis said. “He has been a large part of the growth the team has experienced over the last two years. His dedication to Cleveland and his loyalty to the Cavaliers are rare and we are lucky to have him. We are excited that Zydrunas will be a major factor in our success moving forward.”

Another signing, this time Henderson

“Alan is a proven veteran with playoff experience who will be a valuable asset to us on the floor and in the locker room,” Mousoulis said. “He can give us toughness and depth in the post.”
“I’m happy to be here,” Henderson said. “I’m excited to work with the players, the coaches and the whole organization. Cleveland made some great moves this summer and I’m really looking forward to it.”
“Alan has shown throughout his career the ability to be active on the glass and on the defensive end,” Cavaliers’ Head Coach Mike Brown said. “He provides us with a solid interior presence and will help fortify our frontcourt rotation.”

Letter from the new GM
Hey guys,
Its been a bit quiet around here the past couple of days. I mean compared to whats happened the last couple of weeks......
I feel like this year, we are among the elite in the east, if not the whole NBA.
But im not here to talk about that. Really, I just wanted to let you know, that I will be posting game updates, for each game or the week, for all 82 games.
But that comes as no surprise.
The cool thing im going to be doing, that even im looking forward to, is that through my PDA i will be uploading one streaming game highlight for ya'll to watch. Sounds great I know! But dont expect it to show straight away, give it a minute....but probably wont take that long.
Anyways thats all I want to say really.
Z. Mousoulis

HURRICANE RELIEF GAME
AWAY - 115
HOME - 123
As expected, the game was only consisted of offense, but it was great fun for the fans and also every point, the Cavs players and organization together donated $1000.
So there was a total of $238,000 just from that. After adding ticket prices, food, merchandise etc it was a total of $1,018,937, with every penny going to the Hurricane victims.

Also, we got to see Damon Jones, Larry Hughes, Donyell Marshall and Al Henderson in Cavs uniforms for the first time. Every player played their heart out, and for a couple of hours people were all smiles, and not being reminded of how bad the Hurricane was.

Before the game there was a one minute silence, which believe it or not, went for one minute!
When the players stepped onto the court, there was a tonne of alley-oops, round the back passes, dunks and 'streetball' moves. It was a really fun game to watch, and no one was worried about stats.
"Its great that we can give the fans and people all around something to smile about." LeBron said.
"What he said." Hughes said straight after LeBron.
When asked about how much they scored, LeBron and Hughes both answered, '22'.
But Hughes poured in 40 and LeBron 37 of his own. But, 'stats doesnt matter'. As they kept repeating.
