i agree to those poeple saying it looks like remote. i guess they based the controller style on the family computer. where the controller is boxed type..

Believe it or not, Nintendo makes more profit than the other companies, even if they are selling less. Microsoft actually LOSES money when they sell their systems. So, Nintendo is actually making more profit that Xbox. So Nintendo will stay for a LONG time. Nintendo is far from losing money. They basically own the handheld industry, the PSP sells way less, not even half as much as the DS. The Nintendo DS sells more than the Xbox or the PSP. It is second behind the PS.

Nintendo is the only company that makes games for the sake of making games, their games are way more innnovative than the thousands of clones that the xbox or ps2 pumps out. It's sad how games have become so mainstream so people make thousands of clones of other popular games.

Yeah, and if all that falls apart they can just continue their already profitable business in selling fashionable sex toys.

I'm guessing you can't believe Xbox loses money when it sells systems...well here are some links:

http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,109172,00.asp

XBox loses money currently when it sells.

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/business/ ... box18.html

More on it (more recently)

"The company loses money on every original Xbox it sells, although the broader division briefly reached profitability last year as a result of strong game sales."

There...and it's from a Seattle Newspaper, where MS is based on, so of course they should be more biased towards (not against) MS.

As for Nintendo:
http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/07/28 ... 29939.html

A lot of bad stuff, but every system was losing money and...

"It also can't be understated that Nintendo saw a profit in its last quarter. By comparison, Sony Computer Entertainment today reported a quarterly loss of 5.9 billion yen ($52.6 million). Last week, Microsoft's Home and Entertainment division, which makes the Xbox, said it lost $179 million during its last quarter."

See, so Nintendo, even with poor GameCube sales, made PROFIT, whereas Sony and MS lost money.

I don't think that's what he had trouble believing. It's most likely the "Nintendo makes more profit" etc.

Well, now I answered both.
People underestimate DS and GBA sales...I think that's the problem.

People forget about the analog also, I guess I'll post a pic to make it clear for those who missed them.

Also, there are going to be add-ons to the controller, supposedly it will also have a shell, to make it play like a standard gaming controller as well...supposedly the "shell" MIGHT look something like this (NOT FINAL! NOT REAL! IT'S JUST A MOCK-UP!):

Image

Oh yea, and check the trailer as well...you might just be really confused without the trailer...

Also, imagine how that remote would look if it were modified into a gun? Or a baseball bat? Tons of possibilities...

That controller adapter thing is ugly. Either way, there was nothing wrong with regular controllers to begin with, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Well it's not the real one...it's just what it MIGHT look like...

You gotta admit, it will be much better for FPSes...

Plus remember what company came up with almost ALL the controller advances? NINTENDO.
Let's take a review:

The 4 face button system - check SNES (as opposed to 3-6 like Saturn)
Rumble Pack - check N64
the now traditional Analog stick - check N64
Wireless controllers - check GameCube

The SNES controller IMO is the best controller ever made.. nothing can beat it's simplicity..

The remote in the GC controller looks weird but i like the GC controller as well..

Ok I came to this conclusion... boycott Nintendo. Just make life easier for yourself and buy an xbox 360.

And if you're into pretentious useless crap being masked as "original" go ahead and buy a Nintendo.

Short minded people here, I think. Well, you have two posibilities of playing, that's better than only one: Classic play with the "normal" controller and with the remote one. I love how Nintendo makes consoles and gamestyles.

Imagine a really dark Resident Evil ( the first episode of the saga ) in first person. Close the lights of your room and start exploring with the left analog stick the house and using the remote thing as a "lantern" (I don't know the exactly name) and all with NEXT-GEN Graphics. And you find a zombie, then with the remote shoot its head with precision and in a fast way.

Try to think about game posibilities and write them here, it would be cool.

Doesn't look versatile enough to play sports games (which is a large percentage of what I play), and the failure of Gamecube makes me distrust Nintendo. I still think the 360 will be better.

How are Mario, Zelda, and all those games "masked" as original?

There would be no GTA without Mario 64 or Zelda 64 for one thing.
Zelda 64 invented the lock on which is traditional for almost every 3d game.
There would be no platformers without the original mario. The whole weird jump = kill thing was certainly invented by them and later copied like hell.

These teen gamers don't appreciate what Nintendo has done in the past. They can't see that Nintendo basically took the video game industry out of an abyss, and that most games we play now are based off Nintendo games.

I miss the SNES era or NES era when games were so different. We didn't have 2 billion sequels or clones of GTA, Quake and whatever game. Also I miss adventure games. Man I miss Monkey Island, Gabriel Knight and Grim Fandango. I can see how much better they could be on the Revolution.

I hate that games have gone so mainstream that we play always the same games and get bored so quickly. Game producers don't make games for them to be fun, they make whatever can be popular. I'm not saying Nintendo is only making games for the sake of making games, but so far I've enjoyed their games more because they are unique or original or even whacky. Nobody does anything original anymore, I'm thinking this system will make people change...and maybe get people's lazy asses moving.

Just in case people are wondering when the gaming industry was in an abyss, it were the 80s, when Atari failed horribly, and video games failed to reach a big audience. Then out of nowhere NES came out and destroyed whatever there was and basically made games a lot more mainstream.

Just because Nintendo did something for video games in the past, doesn't mean I'll buy their products now if I think it's a piece of shit.

A lot of people don't even try their games and judge them, that's the problem. They think the games suck when they've never tried it. I have way too many "friends" that just play Halo and ONLY play Halo. It's annoying. They don't even play any other game or try to play any other games. Man I hate Halo...

You ever think about representing Nintendo? You're doing a good job.

I think one problem with Gamecube was that it didnt have a large selection of games like PS 2 and Xbox. All in all 360 will be the best out of the 3. No question about it. And Bang.. Halo is an amazing game.. maybe YOU should try playin it ;)

I think that people worths more that a console has 300000 games per month even if no one of them is good than 10 games per month and 6 or 7 of them are good. I'm a GC and PS2 user, and I hate that people says: PS2 has better games... MORE DOESN'T MEAN BETTER. Sony consoles will never have a Mario, Zelda, Metroid... but we have in Game Cube Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear... the main difference is that some companys don't trust Nintendo, but that's a mistake, really.
