That's a good trade. Kapono and Ely will help out a whole lot off the bench.

Hey you gave up Penny, I like him to be a Laker. Anyway, good win against the Nets and Bobcats. I am sure the trades that you had made will help the Lakers chances of winning. Good to see White had 21 rebounds against the Nets. 8-)

Lakers blowout Blazers!

When Jason Kapono came out of a airplane from Charlotte Lakers players greeted him and took him to pratice. Here is a conversation from the players:

Jason Kapono:"I heard you guys are in a shooting drought."

Kyle Korver:"Yeah, all of a sudden its tough to sink a shot."

JK:"Dont worry I can fix that."

And so the next day the Lakers played the Trailblazers. During the game Kobe was on fire and it seemed that Jason Kapono wouldnt be able to show his stuff. As soon as Kobe was out though he fired up shots. He caught fire shooting 4-9 from downtown and making all 3 of his freethrows. After that Kyle Korver also caught fire and shot 4-6 from downtown. Glen Rice went 1-2 from downtown as the Lakers won 144-112.

Kobe tossed in 39 points and Brand had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Smith had 20 points and 3 blocks.Jahidi White went for 14 boards and 7 points.New Laker Melivn Ely had 5 points and 3 rebounds.

Kobe earns POG honors
Blazers scores
Lakers scores

Game Action:
Derek Anderson soars for a dunk
Randloph or Rahim?
Van Excel goes for a dunk
Ely blocks a shot
Ely knocks someone down
Kapono shot the lights out and started runs
Kobe fakes
Kobe turnaround dunk
Kobe flies past the double
Kobe reverses
Smith soars high

Spurs next!

You think you're gonna need Kapono and Korver both? Then again if you hit your outside shots then some teams are going to have a hard time keeping up with you. Anyway a very good win against the Blazers.

Seems you have so many games coming up Kobe will be out for a while. But you seem to have him covered with Josh Smith and Brand.

Rockets preview

Key Matchup

Image
Josh Smith
vs.
Image
Tracy McGrady

Can Josh Smith play defense and try too hold T-Mac down? Can he run circles around T-Mac like he did too Bruce Bowen? Can Josh Smith be imtimadating to Tracy McGrady? Heres what our Laker scouts have too say.

"Try to slow him down and take away his ability to create in the lane, which is almost unmatched by anybody in the league, especially a player of his size. You have to keep him out of the paint at all costs and make him shoot contested jumpers. The deeper he gets in the lane, the better chance he has to create for someone else. So put a body on him and keep him out. He's a good shooter, but can sometimes get too carried away with himself way out there and start to put up bad shots. Just keep running at him."

Over all as a team the Laker are a faster, younger team. They sould run circles around the rockets.

Lakers win close one, overall good game

Image"Overall I think we played a good game. Brand stepped up, Josh Smith stepped up,and Rafer Alston stepped up. If possible, I would like Rafer Alston too play like that again. Dishing out asts isnt just good for stats but gets his teamates into rhythms.

Brand earns honors again

Rockets scores
Lakers scores

Alston drops a long bomb.
