Fans were not disappointed in this year's All-Star festivities as the best players in the league put on quite a show that was a nail biter all the way to the finish. This year's All-Star Game contained everything you would wish for: Big shots, Alley-oops, tricky passes, swats, ankle breakers and sick slam dunks that only the elite could pull off. The match started out with a few big blocks until Brad Miller of the Sacramento Kings scored the first two points of the All-Star Game and got things started. The East took a slight lead at the end of the first. In the second, the West was able to keep it close with some big shots by Steve Nash. In the third, the East started to pull away with big shots from Paul Pierce and big plays in the paint by Shaquille O'Neal. But the big story was the fourth quarter of the contest. The West was poised to come back into the game and they did. They took the lead but Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers had some big steals and finished on the fast break. Then he came back and hit some big shots to keep the lead for the Eastern side. The West kept coming though as Tracy McGrady who led the West in scoring hit some big shots that kept the West in the game but the East was able to hold on as Iverson got some more points that sealed the deal. The East took it by a score of 121-120 in this exciting and thrilling All-Star Game in Atlanta.
Wow, this all-star game is a close one. 1 point difference. Congrats on Iverson for winning the all-star MVP. Now you just need to focus on getting in the playoffs and win it from there.

Don't let the score fool you, tonight's 76ers win was a close one against the New Jersey Nets. The game got a very slow start as both teams struggled on the offensive end, missing shots, getting them blocked, making bad passes or making unforced errors. The Nets faired a little better than the 76ers as they had a slight lead at the end of a low scoring first quarter. In the second both teams did a better job but still there was not much offense from the 76ers as the Nets started to add to their lead. Philadelphia was able to make a few runs to keep things close but shot horrible from the field. The story stayed the same going into the fourth but the Sixers finally started playing like the team we have seen all season. They got a few big baskets and played hard on defense as they forced the Nets to turn the ball over numerous times and turned them into fastbreak points. Allen Iverson who struggled in the first half went on fire as hit some big shots and made some huge freethrows coming down the stretch. Vince Carter had a great game for the Nets and tried to keep the Nets in it in the fourth but it was not enough. The Sixers ran away with this one, stealing the win from the Nets and moving up even farther in the Eastern Conference. They face the struggling Bulls next.
