35% from 3 point line and 200+ attempts. (200+ attempts FROM THE BENCH!! THIS IS KEY!!) I'm sorry but how is this much different from toine? Except less rebounds? NVE can't defend either.

Hehe...I'd like to see the look on Mark Cuban's face after he found out that Finley signed with the Spurs. He wanted him out of the conference, but now he has to deal with him in his own division. And not only did the Spurs sign another former Maverick in NVE, but they also kept Big Shot Bob away from the Mavs...Cuban's gotta be pissed now

Mid Level exception dived between Finley and NVE and Horry? Something like that.
Mid Level exception is around 4.95M or 5M

The Spurs are looking great! More power to them. Finley is another offensive weapon and can play D. What a team damn!

Great, great, great!!! (Y) :D

Now the options get more and better, in the starting five or in the bench... perimeter shooting was SA's problem last year, and with Nick and Finley it is pretty much solved.

taking into consideration they way this team has of making everything work according to Pop's wishes, I do believe that they are going to be surprised if they do not repeat...

why is everyone comparing the spurs to the lakers now? nve and finley aren't even close to becoming hall of famers. NVE isn't even projected to start

Damn, there bench players could be starting elsewhere.
Duncan has a new challenge on his hands now. If they don't win thsi year there will be questions raised :!: Not to mention no back2backs yet..

Damn how mant times can i say this this is nothing like the lakers,

Rip wrote:Malone and Payton were older than Finley and Quick, Thes two arent being relied on to be starters, hell they could both miss the season and the Spurs would still be real good.

Malone and Payton were STARS, SUPER STARS there whole career up to that point
Finley and Van Exel have both been All stars but youven never said Nick Van Exel is the best PG in the L (maybe quick was elite but...).

All im saying is these guys know how to be team players, pieces to the puzzle. You wont hear complaint about pt or touches from them all year.

The big difference between the 2005-2006 Spurs and the 2003-2004 Lakers is simple. The Spurs organization and Gregg Popovich are all about teamwork. The team is always the most important thing. The Spurs are too great of an organization and they have too good of coaching to let the season slip away because of a lack of chemistry.

This Spurs team will have the same chemistry they had last year, but the thing that is even more scary is they now have the talent to out-gun anyone in the league. But that still isn't their style.

Then why are we comparing Heat to the Lakers then? I mean, all the good things and bad things they say about NVE apply to Walker. (Except Walker rebounds much better and Nick Van Exel is much quicker) Finley is quite different from Jason Williams, but I'd say they are around the same level right now since Finley is in the downside. Maybe Finley is a bit better, but Walker's rebounds make up for it. Also, Walker and Jason Williams haven't been bad locker room influences in a while.
So just do one thing or the other. Either don't compare those two teams to the Lakers, or compare them both, because all I see is hypocrisy.

There were chemistry and ego problems in LA. I don't think that's going to happen in San Antonio.
