I don't see whats so hard about Dynasty

I'm a first time speaker long time watcher of the posts around here and some people are having a tough time making decent dynasties. The following is my current 2nd year dynasty for the Kings, using the newest roster patch i found here at nba-live.com:

Andrew Bogut 77
Chris Webber 80
Peja Stojakovic 79
Kyle Korver 61
Allen Iverson 87

I have made massive multiway trades in order to get these players, all from the origional crappy kings roster. I made so many trades to get these perfect complimenting players now. For instance, in order to get AI, I had to make at least 9 trades before hand, including trading peja and bibby, acquiring Nash, Joe Johnson, Ben Wallace, LeBron James, Ray Allen, etc., then traded other teams back and re-aqcuired AI with Webber and Korver in exchange for James, Grant Hill and a crappy SG.

The best tip I can give anyone is that if you want a player really badly but can't offer the team anything (IE You want ben wallace but don't have anyone on your team detroit wants) then trade a team that has a player detroit wants in order to get the player on detroit you want. For instance, I traded Mike Steve Nash for Peja at one point, then traded Peja to detroit along with another player in return for B. Wallace and another detroit player, then manipulated more trades in order to reacqruire peja, before trading ben wallace and other players for more role players such as d. howard, g. hill, etc from orlando.

Tip: After each hypothetical trade you make, save your game to a new save, then try out new trades to see who you can acquire. With enough time you'll get the perfect team. At one point I had a starting lineup of:

Bogut, A. Walker, P. Stoj, LeBron James, and Steve Nash with GREAT backup players, but hte game was too easy so i traded some away for draft picks.

Its all "realistic" trading :)

Alot of people post here to get some comments about how realistic people feel the trade is before they make it. I -could- make 50 trades to turn a 60 rated player into an 80 rated player, but that wouldnt be realistic and would take the authenticity of the dynasty away. Affectively i'd feel like i was "cheating"

;)

Couldnt have said it better....there's no fun in a dynasty if you are gonna make 500 trades and end up with a totally different team, thats why there are things called fantasy drafts for.

That's true. But what about when your 15 years into the dynasty and people like LBJ and Dwight howard are gettin ready to retire and all you have is randomly made players to trade...then there's simply no authenticity left and the only thing left to keep you going is an awesome team with great draft picks.

Not for me, and I think a lot of other folks feel the same way. For a lot of people (myself included), getting a stacked team eliminates any challenge and gets boring after a while. When NBA Live 2000 first came out and Franchise Mode was new, I would often exploit the CPU and build super teams but ultimately it wasn't any fun because in the end I was just juggling the minutes trying to get everyone their numbers.

But to each their own. (Y)
