Summer is coming to an end...

Postby Colin on Sat Aug 27, 2005 6:18 pm

What is everyone doing over the school year? If you're nearing the senile years we'll call it the rest of the year. Basically this is a "update us on your life" thread. Enjoy.

I've got grade 11 starting up. People keep telling me it's the hardest year (at least here in BC) and I'm taking Chem and Physics so it should be fun. I've retired from high school basketball. The program is run by a group of 6 midget Chileans fathered by Drex (PM me Drex ;) ) who still think what they're doing is the cafeteria budget. So it's really not that great of a program. I'm assuming you guys all noticed me drop out of a lot of NBA Talk threads over the last 8 months or so. Playing basketball this for this stupid program last year kind of sucked the joy out of it temporalily [sic]. But I got a new hoop today and with the new season coming up I should get my thunder back. And Live seems to be improved so that should help. That was all at the fault of Manuel.

On the upside, I have more time for snowboarding. And snowboarding is fun, and my best friends do that more than bball (I quit with one of my best friends, more mountain time was a supporting reason).

So I'd love to hear from the rest of you guys. And...post.

Trust me it isn't fun...at least at my school anyway all we do in class is listen to the teacher talk for 2 hours and take notes then once in every month or so we will do some stupid experiment.
Play the game, win the fight!

I'm also starting 11th grade , and like you colin and emiliano , everyone says its the hardest grade. We all live in different sections of the darn continent called North America , and i guess its the same all over . anyways yea , im trying out for my JV team this year , the teachers are assholes , and pick the students their cool with . my friend last year scored the most points , had the most rebounds in the tryout scrimmages , but some kid missed 2 days of tryouts and he made the team , just cuz he was cool for the teacher. If anything im going back to recreation , make all-star recreation , make division , make state , etc..... I'm not sure if i can do all this because the varsity players all come in and abuse us so they always wind up making the all-star teams.

Well, I'm going to the 10th grade, and from what I've heard it should be pretty easy. If I can get the right gym teacher, I heard that you'd barely have to put any effort into doing anything so that's a plus. I'm guessing everything will basically be like Grade 9 except a tad bit harder, although grade 9 wasn't that hard, I had like an 85 average (but my mom still bitches about me being a moron in school.)

I finished my school this spring, so I don't really have anything to do. I could choose either to start working or to pick up studying again since my earlier education (science) pretty much just gave me a solid foundation to study on from. And since I won’t be doing the later, I'll be trying to work some until the next fall, and then start studying. And I just quit the job I had over the summer, so at the moment I have really little stuff to do (I got a job interview monday though).

well i just finished my mid semester holidays which i spent in Poland getting blazed, drunk and listening to reggae (Y) 8-) Good times indeed.

pff, Yr 11, man that shit was easy....less HW, less subjects to do and more free periods. And yes, i did Chem and Physics too. Don't worry, Yr 12 is even easier, it's practically the same shot over again except that you've already done it once.

I started the 11th grade 2 weeks ago and I'm taking all Honors classes and one of them being Chemistry. It's the hardest year, because its real important comes toward your senior year and you have to make sure you do well this year because colleges are going to look at the grades from your 9th, 10th and 11th grade year.

I've started 10th Grade on Thursday, and let me tell you...

It's going to be extremely hard doing all the things I've found in the Summer. It looks like I'm gonna have to pull NBA Live 06 outta my ass and also pull a new PS2 out of my ass, someway somehow.

In Canada, grade 11 was the hardest year for me in high school, but ironically, that was one of my best years in grade schooling. I'll be going into my 3rd year of the Design program, and I got some awesome courses I'm really looking forward to. Next year will be a breeze too, so I'm enjoying school while I can, before spending the next 35 years or so working. Summer was good while it lasted.

honestly... grades for me havent changed since like 6th grade. its always been around a 93-96 avg. im gonna be a senior-class of 06, and its gonna be easy as hell... even though im taking like 4 ap classes. last year wasnt hard at all... in fact-i slacked off the most last year compared to 9th/10th. its just that u take a lotta tests that count in 11th grade. just got finished with 1 week of school and i can already tell its gonna be a breeze.

No, it's just way overpopulated and they don't have enough lockers for everone so some people have to share. I've never had to share in my entire 2 years here but now they tell me this year I'm sharing my locker with some freshman kid.

That's pretty lame... they should make all the freshmen and sophs share lockers with each other and let the upperclassmen have their own

Excatly! I honestly think they randomly selected people who share lockers. A junior and a freshman sharing a locker? That won't work. I plan on changing the lock so he can't get in.
