Screw renting, who wants to rent it when you can buy it? If you're a fan of Madden, I'm sure you'll like it, if just for the sake of seeing the players on their new teams. Everyone always says that getting it every year is a waste, and every other year is more reasonable. But they always end giving up buying it.

Probably normal XBox. I played this at EB Games some and I like what I see so far. What I can't figure out is why some people complain that it's not much different from 05, but honestly, how much needs to be changed? I like the truck stick and the QB vision thing. In the QB vision I found it either easy to complete passes or easy to get them intercepted because if you accidently place it behind a reciever, you have a problem. I can see it being real fun on those 1-on-1 deep reciever matches.

I plan on getting it but I'm going to wait until XBOX 360 comes out. No reason for buying it for XBOX when 360 comes out in about 2 months.

Yeah Riot I'm doing the same with Madden.. gonna wait till I get my 360. Same thing with NBA Live 06.. gonna wait.
Preparation will only take you so far. After that you've got to take a few leaps of faith.

Yup, there really is no point in getting them when you can get a better version in a few months.

Pressing Y and just covering up the ball works just as well in breaking takles, but it's cool nonetheless.

Punt Returns are jacked up in the game, your player don't block. I had 2 guys infront of me on a PR, and a defender ran right through the middle of them while they watched him, and I had to quickly press fair catch.

Also the DB's in the game are very extraordinary. The thing that bothers me is that they still haven't fine tuned the inside running, RB's still get stuck behind linemen.

How many like/hate the QB Vision Cone? I'd like it better if li Manning's wasn't so damn small.

Just got 06 today, overall impression is that it's OK. It hasn't lived up to the other Madden updates from year to year, but it's still a fun game. I like the passing cone though. My friend hates it with a passion because he thinks it's too hard with QB's with small cones, but I still think it's pretty easy. I completely agree with fgrep though that block on punt returns is terrible, I've managed about a 10 yard return at max so far.

I just got it yesterday. Similarily to whoever up the thread I am a db drafted by the Titans in superstar mode. I'm a 91 ovrl FS. I was amazed to see a 21 year old rookie drafted midway through the third round end up 91 ovrl. Maybe it has something to do with my 90% on the IQ test. :D

Is Terrell Davis always the mentor, or does it change? I started one and I screwed up a setting somewhere so I re-started.

I like training, just find a go-to play and rack up the points. Although it's already getting too easy so I'm going with random plays. I wish there was a bit longer before snaps to call audibles though. I like getting basic man coverage and blitzing both safeties. It takes too long sometimes.

I was in a movie. :D

Switching the sprint and switch buttons on defence made sense as it matches up with the offensive controls. But it completely fucked me up at first. Still messes with me when I'm switching between players before the snap. Getting used to getting my right thumb over the right analog on passing downs first as opposed to hovering the buttons is still awkward. And with that QB Vision it moves too quickly, so it's hard to stick it on a player a lot of the time. Switching the button for QB scrambling was a nice touch too. :x

I want to go the the performance institute. Maybe my next interview will catch someones attention.

Overall game seems great so far.

Yeah he is. And does anyone else think that pass-rushing with your D-line is harder now? I seem to get knocked over a lot. Than I'll try to switch to another lineman, but the pass will be in the air so it'll switch to a DB and I'll leave the reciever open sometimes. Another thing that annoyed me a little is when I went to my agent's office and chose the option to talk to the press about my next opponent (seeing if it would give me exposure or something positive), and then he told me that it was going to be me ripping the other team. :\ I'm trying to be the nice guy so far, so hopefully it doesn't do anything too bad for me.

Yeah i think it is harder but if you start the play as your OLB and then in mid play switch to your tackle you dont get knocked down as much.
