Leading up to the playoffs, Detroit was on an 11 game loosing skid. They had troubles since the All-Star Break with injuries to some of the significent players on the team like Ben Wallace(Knee), Rasheed Wallace(Twisted Ancle-Twice), Tayshawn Prince(Stress Break in Shin-3 Times), and Antonio McDyess(Calf injury). The Pistons will imp their way into the Post season
2009 Playoffs
In the first round of the playoffs, The Pistons played the New York Knicks. The Knicks had definete reason to be ion the playoffs. They're offence is what earned them a spot in the Playoffs but Detroit matched them with their offence and defence. In Game 3, in New York, Ben Wallace was injured in a collision with Stephon Marbury during the 2nd Quarter. He had to be helped off the court but his injury was not serious enough to keep him out of the game. He later returned in the 4th Quarter and finished the night wiht 11 points, 21 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 blocks. Detroit smuthered New York all for games and won the series 4-0

In the second round, the Pistons faced the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavalier were a ruff scuff team with Lebron James leading the way. The Pistons came into this series with a must win attitude. The Pistons took the first 2 games at The Palace. Then, Cleveland stole Game 3 in Cleveland. Aftere that, the Pistons didn't look back. They took the next 2 games to win the series 4-1.

In the Conference Finals, the Detroit Pistons played a strong Atlanta Hawks team. The Atlanta Hawks had beat possible the strongest team in the NBA, the Miami Heat. Detroit once again brought the relentless offence and defence and whipped the Atlanta Hawks 4-0. The Pistons were headed for the Finals once again.

Detriot vs. Memphis
Detroit faced a tough Memphis Grizzlies team who had swept everyone they played in the playoffs. The Detroit Pistons brought their "Bad Boys" game for this series and it showed up everywhere on the court. The PIstons overwhelmed the Grizzlies with their amazing offence and defence. During the series, Ben Wallace scored 43 points in one game and grabbed 32 rebounds. He dominated that night that led to the Pistons winning the series 4-0.
