Great win, everybody contributed just like the real Grizzlies would do. Also the write-ups are real nice. If you are still looking for a starting center, I could suggest you go after Nazr or maybe Magloire since thats what the Grizzlies are trying to do now. But still the team won its first game so there really isn't no need to mess with the chemistry right now. Keep up the good work (Y)

Awesome dynasty, I actually read it all. The trade for Dan was nice too.

I like the way you write, it's got a few mistakes here & there but nothing beyond comprehension. Keep it up, tis nice. (Y)

First of all, thank you all for posting (aire, Emi, Sac)... this keeps me wanting to continue the dyansty!

joeygraham wrote:While you are posting the pics, could you also put up the box scores, too?

The thing is that the pics of the box scores excludes a few players stats, maybe is for the screen resolution of my PC :(. And I tried to paste the text stats, and they were put almost unreadable in the post, like "Gasol C 28 2/5 4/8..." I didn't like it, maybe you can help me with this!

Lorenzen did great! No staritng C is wanted for now...

MEMPHIS AT HIS SECOND TEST: UTAH GAME PREVIEW

Image

Detroit game is forgotten, and now the Grizzlies are focusing in Utah. Despite what many people think, Utah can be a difficult team if Kirilenko and Boozer do the things they like... but Pau and Lorenzen are already being adoctrinated by Andres Susic on how to stick to their franchise players and not letting them do the homework.

The perimeter balance seems to be on Memphis side, but Mike Miller, who had a rather disappointing debut against Detroit, knows that he has to improve a lot if he is to command the team's 3 point first option. Veteran Eddie Jones did much better than him against the sticky Rip Hamilton, and Bobby Jackson contributed with a great defense. So Miller is the only piece of the puzzle that has not been at what Susic thinks of a standard.

At a first glance, Memphis should have no major problems in winning this game, although Utah gets pretty picky at home. Their 1-0 Record, the same as Memphis, shows that a win in the opening game can booster your team confidence, so we should be expecting a temperamental game, where I believe that team will and spirit will be the real force behind the conqueror, rather than finesse or ability.

Image

Coach Sloan has determined that neither Jaron Collins nor Memeth Okur should be on their starting lineup, so he will be putting Carlos Boozer as starting C, Kirilenko in PF duties, and opening space to have Harpring and Giricek as strating wingmans. This means that Utah will try to perform a quick game, trying to go coast-to-coast very fast or create wide spaces for Harpring and Giricek to cause harm.

Rookie PG Deron Williams will be also playing a special match, in a team that can't forget John Stockton and last season didn't found an answer to the spot he opened in the rooster, after retirement. Williams, Susic believes, is one of the best rookies in this draft, and Jackson will have a tough night in preventing him from scoring or finding open teammates.

Speaking of depth, Utah bench is full of big material (Ostertag, Collings, Okur), but Raja Bell's departure has harmed their sharpshooting rotation. McLeod and Eisley are decent PGs but not reliable shooters, and contribution of rookie CJ Miles is a question mark.

Pointing out the above team concepts, Susic knows that Memphis has the initial advantage, since the Grizzles are more seasoned in the running game, and will also have a more physical PF and C if the game turns to be half-court.

Key factor if Memphis wants to win will be guarding very well Andrey Kirilenko, who is in disadvantage in the paint but is quicker than Gasol, and also has a good shoot. Boozer is a burte force, but will be the only Utah player messing bellow the rim, so Lorenzen and Gasol should have him guarderd.

Unlike last game, now Mike Miller doesn't have a natural defender on him, so he has no excuses to be absent from the offensive rotation. Jackson will have defensive duties as priority again, and Eddie Jones is much more player than Harpring, and also will have to end the night with a decent stat sheet in every aspect.

Well, I guess you could try changing your screensize for the screenshots...I'm not an expert on screenshots as I just sorta F12 and paste in paint. I would like to learn more though...Or you could take a screenshot of the stats when they are nice and organized in notepad or something and post that...

Yeah, don't worry bout it mate, I didn't mean it in a bad way, I mean your english is much, much better compared to the english some english people speak/write.

As I said, I understood all of it, maybe once or twice I had to read things twice, but besides that, awesome work.

By the way, perhaps I might be able to persuade you to use www.imageshack.us to host your in game images given it seems the host you're using at the moment doesn't allow too much traffic.

Joey, great idea. I will do that for my Utah clash.

Game Recap - Memphis 86 @ Detroit 80

Postby Argentinian Power on Sat Aug 13, 2005 4:59 am

MEMPHIS REPEATS MISTAKES, BUT STILL WINS AT UTAH
By Andrés Susic

As history has a tendecy to repeat itself, so did the Memphis Grizzles, who again relayed too much in their first half advantage to win in their visit to the Utah Jazz. The team coached by argentinian Andres Susic, despite the 2-0 run at the start of the league, showed the same problems that ten days before against Detroit, starting with total dominion of the game and ending more than worried at the last run of shots by their adversaries.

But, unlike previous match, now the team has an excuse: Pau Gasol was badly fouled by Carlos Boozer in the second quarter, and had to leave the field with a back strain. Despite being fit again in the middle of the third quarter, Gasol only jumped back when the team really needed his services, and he serve them well.

As anticipated by most journalists, Andrey Kirilenko was no match against Gasol, and the Ak-47 only helped with a mere 4 points, 6 rebs and 1 assist, to little for his real capacity. Sloan will regret matching him up with Pau, who again scored 16 points, in only 15 minutes, and served 4 assists. Also, disregarding any roumor of trade that Mafia brought in the week, Lorenzen Wright was dominant on the boards, grabbing 13 rebounds.

The Jazz couldnt display any kind of dominance, and only rookie PG Deron Williams shined, scoring 13 points, 8 of them in the first quarter, and also 3 assists and 2 steals. Croatian SG Gordan Giricek delivered 16 point.

On the Memphis back-line, Eddie Jones was again thinking in the team before himself, and his 5 assists and 5 rebounds are proof of that. Bobby Jackson couldn't repeat his defensive efforts, but he showed great improvement in efficiency, scoring 2 from 3 threes for a total of 13 points. Mike Miller's 11 points are quite deceiving, since his 5-14 from the field rating is still very low. After two games, now trading roumrs on SG spot are begining to take shape.

Brian Cardinal, Shane Battier and Dan Gadzuric were the best performance subs, giving a lot of themselves to avoid suffering Pau Gasol absence a lot. Gadzuric's 6 rebs and 2 blocks are to be highlighted.

The game scoring progression speaks by itself: Memphis dominanted in the first two quarters, with only Delron Williams representing some challenge, but without the usual contribution by Gasol the team fell down in the second half, again being rushed towards the end.

The 2-0 run is excelent for a start in the road, but the Grizzlies know that they have to take more control of the game toward the final half, avoiding to have such close ends. Fans at Memphis now expect the team to win, but also to show maturity. Now the next few games at home will prove if the team is solid enough to be contenders, and also may define Mike Miller's future at the team.

Good win - and thanks for the box scores. Perhaps bolding the stats will make them easier to read.

Good win, even with Gasol suffering a bit. Hopefully his injury will not be longer than this game.

Also, with imageshack, do you need to sign up or anything? and how do you get those thumbnails?

Good win. I'm having trouble against Lorenzen Wright in my series, he's a very good center.

As for Mike Miller, I'm sure you could do a lot worse. He's just lost his touch, there are not many shooters with a sky-high three-point rating who can defend (don't know if Miller can though).
