Technical problems with NBALIVE.com forums

Thu Aug 11, 2005 12:34 pm

Hi there,

Please excuse me if this has been posted before... I'm brand new here, and I love this site and the community. However I'm having a problem I'm unsure that anybody else is having.

When I go onto the internet, I have this site (the homepage and forums) set as a bookmark. I'd say 99.9% of the time when I want to enter the forums, I get this:

phpBB : Critical Error

Error creating new session

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 1114 The table 'phpbb_sessions' is full

INSERT INTO phpbb_sessions (session_id, session_user_id, session_start, session_time, session_ip, session_page, session_logged_in, is_robot, session_admin) VALUES ('4af3a84455d23fce7953a642a1891e2a', 9678, 1123727370, 1123727370, '1847df8d', 0, 1, '0', 0)

Line : 173
File : sessions.php

It wouldn't be so bad if it was just once in a while, but it's pretty much every time, and I have to try over and over again, usually after 10 or 20 attempts, finally it works and I can browse the forums.

Anybody else have this problem?

Thanks for your time,

Brad

Thanks for the quick reply :) It's normal, that's ok, but it still kind of sucks... I'll check out the NLSC you're talking about, if I can find it. Thanks again!

I thought we'd eliminated the problem but it seems to have resurfaced. Back to the drawing board...

it's just the number of allowed sessions... you should be able to increase that in the phpconfig file without a problem (if the server can handle more).

The weird part is, the traffic is about the same as it was before, yet it's only happened in the last few months. Still trying to isolate the cause, if it's something that can be removed with too much fiddling around, it would be a much better solution.

it happens less often than it used to, but takes longer to actually get onto the page afte4r experiencing the error

We think we may have found the cause of the problem, I'm keeping an eye on the situation to see if the change I've made has eliminated the error.
