Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

This game makes me nuts.

I'm a hard core simulation fan, with a twist - I like to watch the games, letting the CPU control both my team and the oppostion, so I can truly play like an owner, trading players, building my team, and watching how they perform. I had a lot of fun with NBA 2005 for the first 20 games or so, until I started to realize that it had the same problem I often encounter in simulation games - it has a definite pattern to it. For 2005, this has manifested itself in an annoying tendancy of the CPU team to go on an extended run every game where my team can't make the simplest of layups while they make 75% of the shots they throw up, regardless of the defense being layed on them. As I type this, my current game is paused, in which my team has blown a 21 point lead over less than a quarter's time, and is now leading by 6, the computer's team having the ball. These unstoppable streaks every game are friggin' ridiculous, and it happens every game. If I'm stuck in one of these slumps, my best three point shooter can have a wide open look and brick it, and my center will blow any layup he shoots. :wall:

There - I vented - I almost feel better now - EA is crap. NOW I feel better. They always come close to being good, but in the end 'ef it up!

i've never watched the cpu play both my team and the other team, but i've played a ton of games where i had a big lead, stopped a comeback attempt, and then continued to pile it on until the end.

i can't prove this, but i think there's something in the "comeback code" where, if you can make a basket or two during the cpu's "run", then you can kill the run.

many times during a cpu comeback, i'll make like two dunks in a row, and then the cpu will miss their next couple shots, signifying the end of their run.

so only thing i can suggest is to try to keep dunking during a cpu comeback. dunks obviously are the highest percentage shots so even if you miss one or two during the run, the cpu will hafta let you make one eventually. and when you hit a couple dunks, the cpu run will be over and you should see things return to normal in the game.

CPU vs CPU will always be ugly to look at. Artificial Intelligence in this regard still, in 2005, is not very good. AI and computer programmers in general are several years away from creating AI to be truly, and realistically like human vs human. Your best bet is to pick up that controller and play the game to break from this cycle. Human vs human of course, will give you maximum realism.

what pisses me off is the fact that ...well i play the game on All-Star (difficulty level) and in the forth quarter i notice that i miss majority of my shots and they steal the ball far too often  i was up by 15 one game and as 4th quarter start these problems began and i manage to win the game by 1
It's in the Game!!
