Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I was playing a friend of mine yesterday and he did a stutter step fade away? He had no idea how he did it. But it is a great move to use when you need to get freed up for a jump shot? Any body have any idea what I'm talking about? If so how do you do this move?
Thanks

If I understand what you’re asking for, you'd have to have an analogue controller.
If you do, push the right stick down while dunning with the ball to make the step, and then just do a regular fadeaway right after that...

I'm using the x-box control so I'll give it a try. This move was amazing when I saw it. The way he got free with the stutter step was crazy. But of course he doesn't know how he did it. (Typical)
Thanks for the advice. I'll let you know if it works

Andreas I tried what you said but couldn't get the stutter step to go? Any other tips?

I think the move you're talking about can be done by pressing up on the right analog stick while you're player is in a stationary dribble.

How do you do that on the PC. The right analog stick is spacebar + the arrow keys. But whenever i try that in the post the guy just moves and doesnt do anything special.
What am i missing?

It might not be possible with a keyboard. I bought a dual analog pad in preparation for NBA Live 2003 back in the day, so I've never played a game with the keyboard since Freestyle was introduced.

Andrew the movie I'm looking to do to is a stutter step jump shot. It's like the shooter hesistates a crossover but then pulls up for the jumper. I think it's one of those moves that just happens by mistake. I don't think there is a certain way to swing or rotate the joy stick to make this move happen?
Sun Jul 03, 2005 2:17 am
Ehm, if it's like that you mean, I suppose you could just push the right analogue stick to the left or right to initiate the crossover, and then just hold the movement button down (depending on where on the court you are) and shoot before he bounces the ball... or?

Yeah thats what I thought. But then a couple days ago when i was trying to do it i managed to do a shoulder fake. I dont know how i did it but i definetly did.

I guess thats the best way to describe it a shoulder fake then pull up for the jump shot. Andreas I try what you suggested.

Well that's confusing, because a 'stutter step' and shoulder fake are two completely different things. Which one do you mean?
Sun Jul 03, 2005 10:29 am
I think the best way to describe it is a shoulder step rather than stutter step.

My fellow NBA Live fanatics I found out how to do the "Special Move". I have NBA Live for x-box so I'll tell you what I did. At the same time hit the "Y" button and press down on the left analog stick and the shooter will do the special "shoulder step" stutter step" or whatever we want to call it. Check it out peeps

i'm not sure if you know of this move already but if u backup with the left analog stick and while doing that you move the right stick down your player creates some space.

I don't have the xbox controller in front of me but I believe "Y" is the pro hop button

i think i no wut u need for the stutter step
if the ball is in the right hand, push the analog stick to the right
if the ball is in the left hand, push the analog stick to the left and then after jus to a regular fadeaway shot

I know what your talking about. I use that move a lot.
Its done when your player is moving to the front and you hit the prohop button and the left anlalog stick down at the same time. Instead of a prohop it does the Latrell Sprewell move where he fakes a drive to the basket and then takes a huge step back or to the side to make his jump shot. Ive done it on PC and on PS2. I dont know about Xbox but you should try. It looks very very good.

Its not a special move.....
Its like doing a normal Pro Hop but while pressing Y u hold down....Found this out first week of playing the game, nothing amazing about it...The distance ur player jumps back hardly frees up ur player and hardly makes a difference

does the shot ever go in?
