i'm in the first year of my bulls dynasty and doing pretty well thru january.
i recently traded away kirk hinrich and luol deng for lebron james and a stiff to meet the salary cap (that stiff will be a free agent at the end of the season so he'll be off my books for next year).
then i traded away ben gordon and andres nocioni for dwyane wade and another upcoming free agent stiff to meet the salary cap.
so i have wade and james to go with eddy curry (who is an mvp candidate) and tyson chandler (who is fourth in the league in scoring). problem is now i have no bench.
another problem: since wade's and james' contracts expire in the same year, i'm gonna REALLY have to fork over the bank to keep them both in 2007-08.
from a coaching standpoint, i can pro'bly still win the championship even with a bad bench. and from a playing standpoint, it'll be a grand time playing with james and wade on the same team.
but from a GM standpoint (esp financially), were these trades ok? or should i traded for some other young star (like kobe) instead of wade so they have different expiring contracts? aside from my starting five, i'm trying to keep only players who have contracts that expire when wade and james are looking for new deals...so i think i should be ok but i'm a newbie with this money management stuff.
thoughts?
