Kapono? Even I could probably drop 20 on him, but I know what you mean when you say you can't score with Andre Miller. His field goal rating is pretty bad if my memory is working properly (which usually doesn't).


Go for Morris Peterson or James Posey if you want a pretty big guard with some pretty good defence.

Quentin Richardson also wouldn't be too bad, his defence is DECENT, but his rebounding and strength are good for a guard.

You could also play Dermarr Johnson.........

If you want a point guard, go after Jason Terry.

I was going to report on a couple of games but I managed to lose the stats. I have them at home tho so it will have to wait... until the afternoon.

Could Carmelo Anthony play shooting guard? At small forward he gets caught out in the corner so often, I figured I could be able to drive to the basket better with him at SG and score more. That would mean I need an outside shooter at SF, and if Melo doesn't perform at SG it will leave me in a sticky situation if I have to move him back to SF. He could certainly defend opposing shooters.

I might still give Miller a chance, although even Mike Fratello is starting to critizise him. I sent a trade proposition to Dallas for Jason Terry with Miller going the other way.

How 'bout: PG Terry SG Anthony SF some three-point threat?

The Denver Nuggets' rollercoaster season continues. Having beat Chicago Bulls, the Nuggets couldn't make it two wins in a row against another of the league's weaker teams, the New Orleans Hornets. The first half of the game was battled out evenly, with the Hornets winning by a point after two quarters. They managed to pull away in the third quarter, and Denver could not respond with their low post offence. That was pretty much all they had, because no three-point shots were put up in the absence of Voshon Lenard. Rookie guard Julius Hodge started a game for the first time in his NBA career, but he isn't an offensive option Denver can rely on, not yet anyway. The team must be looking to sort out the situation as quicky as possible, because right now it's all looking very grim for them.

SEATTLE MAKES A COMEBACK BUT DENVER HAVE FINAL WORD

Seattle Sonics almost staged an amazing comeback win over the Denver Nuggets last night in Denver. The script of the game was much the same as Denver's previous home win against the Chicago Bulls: the Nuggets cruised to an 18-point lead in the first half but completely lost their touch in the third quarter and allowed Seattle to get right back into the game. In the end Denver battled on and managed to pull away to a seven-point win. The Nuggets' main man was Brazilian power forward Nene Hilario, who covered for Kenyon Martin most of the game, putting up 31 points. Nene, Camby and Martin had very little resistance from the Seattle post players for the entire game. Voshon Lenard started again and managed to make a couple of baskets, but his opponent Ray Allen responded with 30 points. Andre Miller looked more like a class point guard with some good assists and crucial free throws when the Sonics intentionally fouled Nuggets players at the death to buy more time.

DENVER TRADE FOR WILLIAMS

The Denver Nuggets have completed a trade bringing in point guard Jason Williams from the Memphis Grizzlies. Moving to Memphis in the trade is another point guard, Andre Miller.

Williams is a good passer of the ball and he can also drive to the basket. Most importantly, he can shoot the ball from outside. Miller is more of a traditional point guard who distributes the ball. Both teams felt the trade was in their best interest.

Williams will appear for the first time in a Nuggets jersey at the Pepsi Center tomorrow when the Nuggets meet Philadelphia 76ers.

MARTIN EXPLODES AS NEW-LOOK DENVER BEAT PHILLY

Jason Williams played for the Denver Nuggets for the first time last night in the Nuggets' 84-81 win over Philadelphia. Another new starter was veteran shooter Wesley Person, who started at small forward, with star player Carmelo Anthony starting at shooting guard. The main reason for Denver's win was again Kenyon Martin, whose injuries had healed allowing the forward to put up a season-high 49 points. Martin was unstoppable from the first quarter to the last, dominating the paint and torturing Sixers' star Chris Webber on every play. Despite Martin's efforts the game was still going to overtime, when Williams dished the ball out to Person with 1.8 seconds to go, and the veteran made the outside shot to decide the game. Person made only five points, but even more invisible was Carmelo Anthony, with only two points at his new position. Another guard, rookie Julius Hodge, suffered an injury in the second quarter and will be out for 10 days and will miss the Nuggets' next game in New York against the Knicks.

Cheers everybody! I actually went for other point guards, like Kirk Hinrich and Jason Terry first, but Jason Williams matches them easily despite a lower overall rating. J-Dub has a 70 rating, while Terry and Hinrich are at 72 (I think).

In order to make my man-to-man defence work, I'm still desperately looking to replace Voshon Lenard. I simply can't play with him starting and I don't have many players I want to trade.

I wish I could get Joe Johnson from the Suns but at an overall of 71 I doubt I can get him. Other options I have picked out are Allan Houston and Luther Head, a Rockets rookie guard who's a decent shooter and defender (looking at ratings).

It was back to reality for the Denver Nuggets as they lost to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden last night. Denver's game was exactly the same as many times before this regular season. Kenyon Martin dominated with help from Marcus Camby, Carmelo Anthony was solid but didn't manage to put up 20 points, and Voshon Lenard was being run over by the opposing shooter, this time Jamal Crawford. It's about time some changes were made.
