cuhalliday:

I know i lean on this guy alot, but hes a perfect scapegoat for those rediculous contracts you cant wait to get rid of.....

Try grabbing Sweetney and Hardaway from NY. Hardaway isnt really "young" but you wont find any young players with a contract like Davis' .

Your other option is to trade to a team with lots of cap space. Charlotte may be the only choice there when youve got 16mil to get rid of. Maybe Melvin Ely and Keith Bogans?

I tried getting Sweetney and Hardaway but NY doesn't have the cap room...I also tried trading with Charlotte but they declined my offers. Any more suggestions? :?

With Charlotte try for Kapono instead of Bogans

Tried that...didn't work. My hope is to trade Davis for the worst player on their roster (an offer they cannot refuse) then release the player and sign a temporary PF until the season is over. This will give me the cap space I need to sign a very good PF during the off season. Sound like a good idea?

Guru thanks for your assistance concerning my last case but I have another challenge for you. I'm starting a new dynasty with the Lakers and I need two SGs and two PGs. My Roster is as follows...

C B. Grant 64
PF L. Odom 83
SF C. Butler 74
SG K. Bryant 94
PG C. Atkins 58

C C. Mihm 59
PF S. Medvedenko 53
SF D. George 65
SF L. Walton 62
SG V. Wafer 55
PF B. Cook 53
SF J. Jones 59

C A. Bynum 50
PF R. Turiaf 50
PG S. Vujacic 44

So...any suggestions?

Sat Jul 23, 2005 5:41 am

Trades:

SF-Devean Geogre-66
C-Vlade Divac-57

To Hornets for:

Jamal Magloire-72

Lakers give:

Lamar Odem-80

Clippers give:

Elton Brand-81

Roster:

C-Jamal Magloire-72
PF-Elton Brand-81
SF-Caron Butler-71
SG-Kobe Bryant-98
PG-Chucky Atkins-61

Bench:

PF-Brian Grant-62
C-Chris Mihm-60
SF-Jumaine Jones-58
SF-Luke Walton-58
PF-Slava Medvedenko-55
PG-Sasha Vujacic-53
PF-Brian Cook-54

Then Brain Grant too New York for Penny. Try it.

EDIT:Then Atkins for Rafer Alston.

Sat Jul 23, 2005 5:44 am

Good plan but I still need more guards...anyother ideas?

Mon Jul 25, 2005 2:36 pm

OK cuhalliday:

Nice challenge, lets get to work:

First up, im not on your rosters so im not 100% on what the player ratings are and where teams interest lies.

What im thinking is:

D George
L Walton

to Miami (who should desperately need SF's) for:

Dorrell Wright
Damon Jones

Doing the B Grant for P Hardaway is a decent trade, but you wont get under the cap with Kobe on your team, so its upto you.

Im not an Odom fan really so i'd move him, Magliore is a realistic move and would be a good fit at C with B Grant at PF.

L Odom
C Mihm

to New Orleans for:

J Magliore
C Paul

Now you'd be running:

J Magliore
B Grant
C Butler
K Bryant
C Paul

D Jones
D Wright
J Jones
C Atkins
S Medvedenko
A Bynum

Mon Jul 25, 2005 3:39 pm

Okay...I'll play with this line up and see what happens. You might also want to check the dynast stories for I have another Lakers dynasty I put together myself. Please tell me what you think. :)

Houston Rockets

Wed Jul 27, 2005 3:56 am

I just started a Rockets franchise with current rosters + Damon Stoudemire.

All the ratings and salaries are the same.

Yao
Swift
McGrady
*Wesley
Stoudemire

D. Mutumbo
*J. Barry
*J. Howard
*B. Sura
*M. James
L. Head
*R. Bowen

*C. Weatherspoon
*C. Ward
*V. Baker

I hate undersized shooting guards, so I'm trying to get rid of Wesley. I am willing to move any player with an asterisk*. If Juwan Howard is moved, I'd like to get a PF in return.

Scoring is not a priority. I'm looking for a defender to take pressure off T-Mac. I could move Tracy to SG, so a small forward would work too.

I was thinking someone like Trenton Hassell or Gerald Wallace. Any suggestions?

I'm no genius but you could trade for Gerald Wallace. He has a good defensive and a descent offensive game. He will take pressure off T-Mac in both aspects. You could also go for D-Miles or Martell Webster depending on what you want. As for the undersized guard you could trade him and another player for a descent shooter preferably a younger one so you can build on him as well as T-Mac and look to trade with a team that has a lot of cap space like Charlotte or the Bucks (Might want to trade for M. Redd). Hope that helps.

chuanito:

I dont have the latest rosters so im flying blind!

Defenders at the 2 guard spot....

Posey and Battier come to mind for me! try out Memphis, they both can swap with TMac between the SG and SF spot so you can create matchup problems.

~boshalladay~:

OK man, i need to know the ratings and contracts of your guys.

At first glance i think you could get Yao Ming for the people your giving up. Another option might be Chicago, you could grab Curry/Gordon/Hinrich in a blockbuster deal and run:

Curry
Stoudamire
TMac
Gordon
Hinrich

Which would be formiddable...

Bulls traded Curry to Pistons for Prince

Hmmm, ok, Detroit probably really wants Joe Johnson, make sure his first position is SF, you could trade for Curry from Detroit for JJ alone.

That leaves you with K Thomas and Nash to move. and you could definately goto Chicago for that one and grab Hinrich and Gordon, could still work bro!

Mon Aug 01, 2005 6:09 pm

Ok I need a PF/C BIG TIME

Posted: Sat Jul 30, 2005 10:42 am Post subject: My Bobcats Dynasty

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have an XBox so I had to create the rookies. I created Bogut all the way to Johan Petro (1-25) I gave them decent ratings to, I didnt give them 80's or 90's The best rated player was Bogut I gave him a 72. Here goes my Bobcats Dynasty
Schedule Type > Random
Season Length > 58 (Play 1/3 or the games, Sim 1/3 of the games and Intervene in 4th 1/3 of games)
Skill Level > All-Star
Sim Quarter Length > 12 Minutes
Play Quarter Length > 6 Minutes
Playoff Length > 7-7-7-7
Simulation Injuries > Yes
Fantasy Draft > No
Simulation Type > Intervention( When I intervene I do 8 minute 4th quarter)

Roster
Starting 5 Lineup

C - Emeka Okafor #50
PF - Sean May # 0
SF - Joe Johnson # 31
SG - Dwyane Wade # 3
PG - Rafer Alston #11

Bench

PG - Brevin Knight # 22
PG - Jason Hart # 1
SF - Maciej Lampe #15
PF - Melvin Ely # 2
PF - Alan Henderson # 51
C - Jake Vohskul #43
C - Aaron Williams # 34

I want Randolph or Ratliff, or Chandler Ill trade Joe Johnson because im most likly getting Ray Allen. Please help me out. If not one of those 3 a good Center I need most by I would love to have Zack Randolph let me know.

Mon Aug 01, 2005 7:08 pm

Hmmm, Ok Shaun, by the looks of your roster you're well under the salary cap, so getting Ratliff wouldnt be hard but it may make getting Ray Allen through free agency more difficult!

Chandler generally resigns for about the same amount as hes signed for now. So i'd go for him! you can probably do a 1 for 1 trade with Chicago as they have interest in good SF's. If they 1 for 1 trade doesnt go through, put Jason Hart in the deal and grab yourself a bench warmer.

If your bench was stronger i'd try and get you Randolph, but you dont have the depth to pull that off.

Tue Aug 02, 2005 12:08 am

Curry got resigned in offseason
Wouldn't accept because they got Tayshaun in Curry trade
I didn't resign Thomas

Yes I found a rip for Jason Rich

possible trades?

Tue Aug 30, 2005 9:40 am

it's the end of the first season for phx, and I have Joe Johnson as an upcoming free agent... also have qrich, can i trade both of them for a better SG even if joe johnson is an upcoming free agent? rest of the team is pretty standard: amare, nash, matrix... with hunter, zarko , barbosa & casey jacobsen off the bench...

also, i will be more than $5M under the cap at the end of the season, who can i get for that kind of money?

Tue Aug 30, 2005 2:19 pm

DRU_JONES:

You'll have to sign and trade I suspect, dont worry about the $5M it will probably get you a guy of equal talent to Joe!

Before you trade Johnson/Q Rich i'd edit one of them to a SF first, then a SG, this way you can trade to a team in desperate need of a SF and get better value....

Teams that have high interest in SF's to my knowledge:

Chicago (Ben Gordon?)
Washington?(Larry Hughes)
Miami (D Wade)
Detroit? (RIP Ham)
San Antonio (Manu?)

Theres a few ideas bro, hope that helps

Tue Aug 30, 2005 3:19 pm

thanks for the suggestions...
if i was to keep only one (joe j vs qrich), who would you suggest?

I'm playing with the New York Knicks right now and I feel I still need some players my roster looks like this:

C: Frye 63/James 53
PF:Rose 61/Williams 60/Taylor 59/Lee 51
SF:Richardson 71/Thomas 64/Hardaway 60/Ariza 54
SG:Crawford 74/Houston 65
PG:Marbury 85/Robinson 65

I'm lookig for a good PF, a preety solid SG and a backup PG for robinson.

I want to trade one of the following players
Malik Rose,Jerome Williams,Tim Thomas,Allen Houston

Wed Aug 31, 2005 10:34 am

marbury for iverson?

Thu Sep 01, 2005 10:41 am

YoG:

Crawford is solid at SG, wouldnt move him, Im guessing you wanna start Robinson and move Marbury for a star PF?

OK, heres what i'd be trying:

Marbury/Rose/Ariza

To Idiana for:

O'Neal/Tinsley/Bench warmer

OR

Try dumping A Houston on Charlotte for some cap relief? could pick up a great shooter like Kapono and a backup PG like B Knight

Another option may be:

Marbury/Rose/Williams

To LAC for:

Brand/Kittles/12th man

The LAC trade coupled with the Charlotte trade would leave you looking like:

C - C Frye / J James
PF - E Brand / M Taylor / Lee
SF - Q Rich / T Thomas / Ariza
SG - J Crawford / A Hardaway / J Kapono
PG - N Robinson / B Knight
