hmmm seems like Sloan hates every point guard on his team. They first sign Arroyo to a big contract, then give him no minutes. Then they trade away their only 2 point guards they had during the season just because Sloan don't get along with them in return they get a Ostertag who, let's face it, almost done for this career. BUT the Jazz did well because they got rid of a few deep bench players for a guy who might contribute, not for too long though. And besides, they just got Deron Williams who is going to be pretty good ( i hope he gets along with Sloan  )......

Good move by Sacramento to replace Mobley.

I was afraid they would be stuck with Kevin Martin or Fransisco Garcia at the starting SG spot. I'm not saying they're bad players but they are both really thin and wouldn't cut it as defenders in the NBA, especially on an already terrible defensive team.

Good moves by Memphis and Sacramento, though if the Grizzlies are planning on shipping Jason Williams and Earl Watson it'd better be for another point guard. Bobby Jackson's a former Sixth Man of the Year and a fine player...when he's healthy. But since Wells has worn out his welcome in Memphis I can't fault them for taking that risk, though they'll need to get good value from any deal involving J-Will and/or Watson.

Sacramento is also taking a bit of a risk given Bonzi's rep, but it might turn out to be the right situation for both parties. I know it's a stretch, but I'll use the Rodman for Perdue trade between San Antonio and Chicago back in 1995 as an example. Wells isn't comparable with Rodman in terms of his antics or success on the basketball court, but it could be a similar situation where a player that's become troublesome to his current team and worn out his welcome gets a fresh start in a situation that works for everybody.

Utah's trading three backups, none of whom played more than 17 minutes per game, for a familiar face who is at best a decent centre (by today's standards). For now I'll call it a trade that won't really help or hurt them.

Ostertag, haha. Wells should now play big minutes since he will be a starting SG in Kings.

I'm also confused about Ostertag going back to the Jazz... well, good luck to them. Memphis is now real loaded once more!

I have to agree, someone was mentioning him coming to Memphis on the Grizzlies board. If Memphis ended up getting him, then he would be considered our all-star and it would be interesting to see how him and Pau would work together. If the Grizz don't give up alot to get him, it wouldn't be nothing wrong with acquiring him I guess. I would rather for Memphis to go strong and go after Magloire first before getting an all-star caliber guard.
