Official NBA All-team thread

Sun Jul 24, 2005 11:00 am

RULES
1) All teams will be used in this all-team thing (yes including Charlotte)
2) 12 Players for each team
3) Player must have or is playing for team he is on (Duh)
4) MINIMUM of 1 player on each all-time team that is current (current as in played for the team in 04-05)
5) Players may only be represented on one team (e.g. Wilt Chamberlain can be on EITHER Philly,Golden State, or LA Lakers)
6) You can change the position of a player. You can convert PG to SG, SG to SF, SF to PF, PF to C and vice versa, but nothing else.
7) After all players have been selected, ratings will have to be made.
8) Cyberfaces can be added for realism, but they don't have to be made.
9) Since i suck at putting patches on the internet, someone else will have to do that.
10)Please try and take this thing seriously. I'm going to try and put a lot of effort into getting this thing done.
11)It is possible to make the 11th/12th man not exactly someone who was very good instead of the best available player. Could be someone who died while he was on the team or some player who was on that team famous for doing good in the slam dunk contest/3-point shootout (e.g Reggie Lewis 12th man for Boston)
12) I'm going to start with putting obvious duh's on their respective teams (Jordan in Chicago, Stockton and Malone in Utah) and every player for the Charlotte Bobcats :D. However, if there is a case where there is competition for a starting spot on an all-time team, I"m not going to put them in until people have decided who should start.

thanks for the players keep them coming

ive decided to put Bob McAdoo on the LA Clippers (Buffalo Braves) since he spent more seasons there then any other team

switched positions of some players to fill starting spots

also i have added a new section called UNDECIDED for players who have been selected by more than one person. you can help decide which team that player goes on by debating on the boards. i havent decided if i will have polls for each player yet

Sun Jul 24, 2005 1:14 pm

^
McGrady is taken, he's on Toronto. Shaq is also on LA Lakers...

Sun Jul 24, 2005 1:16 pm

Micheal Cooper for Lakers? Dont know if taken.

Sun Jul 24, 2005 1:18 pm

The Denver GM of the Nuggets!

Billups
Camby
Davis
Williams ( Jerome )
Peterson
Christie
Willis

LA Lakers
Bench Worthy and put Elgin Baylor. Even though Worthy is one of my favorite Lakers, I think Elgin made more of a contribution. Or if you want, you can bench Kobe instead and make Baylor the SG.

recount the # of players on that team. there's 13, not 12.

knock one of them off.

meanwhile keep suggestions coming, dont forget to debate about players in the undecided section

Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:20 pm

Iverson in the PG or SG (Mo Cheeks could make the list, too)

EDIT: Barkley is already in Phoenix

Is The Stilt in a team?? If not, put him in the Sixers :P

Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:27 pm

John Paxton in the Bulls!

Just because Barkley was put in Phoenix doesn't necessarily mean he'll be there. Since now he has been selected to more than one team (Suns and Sixers) he now goes into the "undecided" section of players. After enough ppl have decided where Barkley (or any other player in the undecided section) should go, I will put him on the team that more ppl want him 2 be on.

Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:33 pm

Ray Allen in the Bucks?

EDIT: And Steve Kerr in The Bulls!

Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:42 pm

i think mcgraddy should be in magic. coz that's the time when he is at his best. shaq should be in la coz he got three championships in that team and was dominant at that time. bill walton should be on portland also.

Sun Jul 24, 2005 3:44 pm

Steve Kerrs a SG.

Sun Jul 24, 2005 4:00 pm

Tracy McGrady should be put in the Orlando Magic his stats tell you why, and he didn't score 62 points with Toronto (Maybe because in Toronto he had a team  )

http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tracy_mcgrady/index.html

Also Shaq should go to LA, he did win 3 titles there, but then again, when he was in Orlando, in his individual efforts, he won the MVP award in his Rookie season and made the Finals twice.

EDIT: I think Mutombo should be in the Denver Nuggets, Pau Gasol and Mike Bibby should be in Memphis, Jason Williams and Peja Stojakovic in the Kings, Baron Davis and Glenn Rice in the Hornets, Kirilenko in the Jazz, Glenn Robinson in the Bucks and Marbury should be in New Jersey.
