Viva the X's Bobcats! And the incredibly time-consuming read if you start and finish on the same day!

LOCKOUT OVER!!!!!

After a month of the off-season was lost due to the latest lockout, the NBA owners and players and reached a tentative agreement on a new deal. Using his savvy negotiating skills, the NBA Players' Union new Player Rep, Andrew "The X" Watson, helped to secure a deal that didn't leave the players out in the cold for once. The new deal lowers the minimum draft entry age from 20 to 19, effective from next season. In addition, the maximum length of player contracts remains at status quo (7 years if re-signing with same team, 6 years if signing with a new team). The Players' Union had to give up some concessions in the deal involving random drug testing for all players, which could cause problems for certain, unnamed NBA players (I'm looking your way 'Sheed). There were also some minor changes to the luxury and escrow tax situation, but nothing too groundbreaking. This deal will run for the next 5 seasons, with team owners having an option after that time, whether to continue the new deal for another 2 seasons. A happy day for all NBA fans, the off-season will start in the next week.

-----------

Had a sick day yesterday which allowed me some time to cover a lot of the rookie ratings (80% of them), and will finish ratings tonight, and test them over the next day or so and tweak where necessary....the 2007 draft is looking pretty average, but expect the 2008 to be a bit stronger....other news, Weaver, ceekay and Sit still have their trade demands/requests/exemptions still hanging around....will be less updates this coming season as am really busy, but I'll probably go back to my format of monthly summaries as game-by-game recaps take too long....

cheers

cheers....and no, he isn't....remember I had one year of generic rookies, so I'm a year behind....he might be in '08 class....

not as active as before....as I said before, no more 3 game block game updates....I'll be back to the good old monthly summary/recaps....I'll update when I can and when I want to I guess....off-season coverage will probably kick in early next week as it is coming up to weekend, so no time there....you understand though
