Creating A Player

Does anyone know what i have to do.....I make a player,edit the dbf for him so he has a custom face..( both appearance.dbf and player.dbf ) and when i go back into the game i can not edit him!!! The screen just stops on the last level on the bar..and says please wait..but nothing happens!!!

What can i do so i can edit!
