1st Rnd Draft pick

Postby Los Angeles Lakers on Tue Mar 08, 2005 2:58 am

I am playing as the lakers in my first season and want to know who to trade to a team for a first round draft pick. I dont want to give up my starters (kobe, atkins, butler, odom, mihm) or Jumaine Jones. I try trading to teams who are under the salary cap (charlotte, utah ect.) but they wont except. Thanks for the advice

Most teams do not want to trade draft picks at all, I've heard maybe like 1 team every few months or something. It'll be tough.

I wouldn't trade for draft picks, all the rookies progress too slowly, just trade for them after thier first year. Seriously the teams will ask for less. Oh when drafting, always get a center even if you don't need one, it seems that almost every team has a high intrest bar for them.

if the bobcats had any roster room defintely trade some of your unneeded players, but i think the bobcat's roster is full. I've heard about people trading devin george for a high draft pick or something. If not, try trading 1 guy in the 60's and 2 guys in the 50's for a 1st round draft, and 2 really really crappy guys from the bobcats. you gotta make some sacrafices sometimes. LIVE maybe dum on the trades, but they are pretty difficult when it comes to draft pick, any draft picks... which is stupid cause in real life i see draft picks getting traded all the time, maybe not the lottery picks

Dunno about IRL, but his rating in 2008 was 72 in my dynasty, pretty nais in my opinion and cheap if you aquire him (like me) through a 7 year contract for 3,2 mil a year...

In my dynasty Charlotte wanted to trade its 1st round pick for Doleac, which I gladly accepted. Turns out I went first with that pick in the lottery. (Y)

Make sure it's 1 player for the draft pick. If you try to trade 2 or more players the CPU usually rejects it.

Try a good Center to Charlotte for their first round pick. *
Try a good PG or Center to Utah for their first round pick. *

Remember, do not try to sweeten the deal by adding another player...the CPU will reject it even if it's better than a single player deal.

I'm using Andrew's patch for my dynasty and Charlotte has no roster spots open. I'm trying to do a decent center for a Charlotte schmuck and their 1st round pick, but they rejected it.

don't remember if utah had any open roster spots in andrew's patch...will check tonight.
