Spurs without TD

Postby u870761 on Fri May 27, 2005 12:01 pm

After a few seasons with my Houston, the team seems to be invincible with T-mac. I started a new dynasty yesterday with the latest roster update, and this time is San Antonio.
I concluded that most of my scorings are from the guards and SF, those big guys only help a little in defense. So I decided to build up a speedy run-n-gunners.
The Spurs Ginobili is the player that I like recently, and so does Parker. First I traded off TD for Kobe, then Mohammed and Nest for Vince Carter. Then I tried to kick G.Robinson and Bowen out, but failed, because Glenn is having a big contract. Then the target turned to Chris Bosh.
I forgot what was the exact deals. Yet what I have finally in my team are..
Brezec, Bosh, Okafor, VC, KB, Knight(from Charlotte), Ginobili... I traded off also Parker and Barry...
So now all the G F players are having a long remaining contract.
KB 7 yr left, VC 3 yr left...

OK, you should never have touched the Parker/Ginobili combo, if you want a run-n-gun unit in San Antonio heres what you do.......

If you're using the playoff rosters trade

Duncan/B Barry/Mohommed

To Cleveland for..

James/Ilguaskas/Vajero or Gooden if you can get him too

Then you'd be running:

Z Ilguaskas
R Horry/ D Gooden
L James
M Ginobili
T Parker

and that team would kick arse.

heres what you do.....

Carter can play SF so keep him there.....

KB and Manu dont go together, so you gotta move one of them...

In this situation I think you need to move Ginobili to Chicago for K Hinrich, they should have pretty similar contracts and youll have a PG!!

Okafor
Bosh
Carter
Bryant
Hinrich

Id run that squad

i think the original team is better. I would've kept TD. When playing superstart mode, the AI really really like to penetrate the basket. So i always keep a good PF or C that can defend. Besides, what's the point of playing San Antonio when you don't have TD, Ginobili, Parker, Barry... ??? You are certainly not play SA for their nice looking jersey :D

Hinrich shoots as well as Kobe and Manu, so your not losing anything there. You'll need a pure PG to keep turnovers down and assists high.

I always focus on having a concrete starting unit before developing bench depth, you want atleast 1 useful player in each position to give you options on offence against every team.

So give up Manu, put your dynasty points into a SG that you draft after the first year. Brevin Knight isnt going to add anything long-term for your team.

How about Devin Harris, Marquis Daniels or Speddy Claxton for back up at the point.

parker got greedy in my dynasty. he had a 1 year 1.10M deal, and when I went to re-sign him he asked for 6 years/40M (forget exact figure). What is going on?
