Is it just me or is it really easy to score in the low post?
I used to suck against the computer on superstar mode in the low post. I kept trying to do lay ups and they would either block me or force me into a bad shot. When i did regular shots i would just get blocked.
Then i realized the key: jumping forwards when you shoot. When you do a shot while jumping forwards you dont get blocked.
I applied this using shaq and it owned. But obviously practically anything will own with shaq so i decided to really test it out.
I used Nenad Krstic in a game. He is rated like 53 or 54 in the latest roster update, so hes not terrible but he is by no means an offensive monster.
At first it seemed to me that my thing only worked with a shaq like guy. I missed my first couple shots. But i had forgotten about the jumping level. Krstic only has like a 36 jump rating. I had been jumping too long and thats why i missed most of my early shots. Once i fixed that i was good to go.
I ended up going 8/11 in field goals with krstic. Considering that that is counting two early misses because of me holding shoot too long, that is pretty dominant. Besides the field goals i also got to the line a few times.
And it wasnt that i was against a team with terrible defense. I was playing the bulls. Krstic was getting guarded by tyson chandler half the time and hes a very good defender.
I dont consider myself a master of the low post either. All i do is back the guy down, spin off one way, press the pro hop button, and then shoot while leaning forwards. It seemed to work just about every time.
I was using Andrews sliders which are realistic and everything. Does anyone else find scoring in the low post to be a tad too easy? I mean to me there is no reason to try jump shots with guards because this is way better and I get a way better field goal percentage out of it.
