Nice series so far... you got right back in it with that last nailbiter.

The sim engine really let you down in Game 1, didn't it?

Keep it up, and at least go down with a gracious 3-2...

NVE really showed off his streaky shooting in that game with 7/11 from downtown  I hope you can continue this because you can't go out in the 1st round.

the final games of the series have been played, so you will find out very soon

what are you trying to say, that your 4-1 series loss to the Pistons wasn't gracious?

yeah, the sim engine really let me down in Game 1 and I have to rely on it in Game 4 to keep me alive....if I had taken care of business in Game 2, I wouldn't be in this predicament, but ahh well....keeps it realistic I guess

pHLo wrote:damn 2-1 so far...

yep, I expect my CPU/sim team to bring its A game as it brought it all season long

Mafia wrote:NVE really showed off his streaky shooting in that game with 7/11 from downtown I hope you can continue this because you can't go out in the 1st round.

yep, that's why he was signed, to bring this sort of performance to the playoffs....it was long overdue, that's for sure....and btw, I'm in the 2nd Round, not the 1st Round

CB4 wrote:Ye man what a win by TWO !! yo better pick up ya game the next win

yep, was a superb game....from Van Exel to the comeback in the 4th to the Crawford 3, and to the OT win with Meka fouled out and G.A. and Simmons with 5 fouls for the whole 4th quarter and OT....was good :D
Sit wrote:Nick the Quick saves the Cats! Nice job! Told you there would be a game 4... hope the sim engine saves u!

yep, Nick the Quick luvs sticking 3 point daggers in the Knicks' hearts....he's been doing it for a long time now....as for sim engine, I guess I have to put my faith in my CPU team :shifty:

I'm honoured that you used your 1st ever NLSC post on my dynasty :D :chug: and who would have known that I've had faithful followers from day 1  enjoy your time at NLSC (Y)

KNICKS CRUISE, MOVE ON TO CONFERENCE FINALS, DREAM RUN OVER FOR BOBCATS

ROUND 2, GAME 4 (SIMMED GAME):

FINAL 1 2 3 4 Total
Bobcats 20 20 27 20 87
Knicks 33 33 20 27 113

GAME RECAP:

The season is over for the Charlotte Bobcats as the New York Knicks rebounded from a tough Game 3 loss to run away with the game by 26 points in a 113-87 victory. The Knicks once again used huge output from its starting backcourt (Marbury and Crawford) which combined for 66pts, 7rebs, 19asts, 4stls and 1blk. This game was never in doubt as the Knicks gained a 13pt lead by the end of the 1st and a 26pt lead by the half-time, and the rest was a formality.

The win means that the Knicks win the series 3-1 and move on to face the Beast of the East, the Detroit Pistons. Meanwhile, the Charlotte Bobcats will look upon this playoff run with pride as they took out Shaq and the Heat before eventually falling to the Knicks. The Bobcats were exposed primarily at the SG position and Bernie Bickerstaff has already suggested that this position will be upgraded through free agency and/or the draft.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

BOBCATS

G. Arenas - 23pts, 2rebs, 4asts, 2blks, 1stl
E. Okafor - 6pts, 9rebs, 2asts, 1stl
G. Dumars - 10pts, 5rebs, 1ast
B. Simmons - 7pts, 7rebs, 1stl

KNICKS
S. Marbury- 31pts, 2rebs, 13asts, 4stls, 1blk (Player of the Game)
J. Crawford - 35pts, 5rebs, 6asts
T. Thomas - 13pts, 4rebs, 1ast

ROUND 2, GAME 4 RESULTS:

WEST:
(2) San Antonio 116 @ (6) Memphis 60 (Series tied 2-2)

EAST:
(3) New York 113 @ (7) Charlotte 87 (Knicks win series 3-1)

now it's time to get those rookie ratings done....and decide if I will re-sign Watson or maybe pull off a sign-and-trade deal  can't you picture it, Watson for 2 Guinesses, 1 Kilkenny, 1 shot of tequilia and 1 batch of Sheed's brownies

PLAYOFFS 2nd ROUND RESULTS

WEST

(4) Dallas
defeats (8) LA Lakers 3-0

Image

Dallas easily took care of the upstart No. 8 seeded Los Angeles Lakers. This series was never in doubt, although unfortunately for the Lakers, they were not at full strength, with rookie PG Leo "Seraph" Reyes not the same in this series after playing through an injury. Mavericks move onto the Western Conference Finals. Could this be the Mavs year?

Dallas: M. Finley - 18.8ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.88spg
LA Lakers: K. Bryant - 16.4ppg, 4.0rpg, 6.3apg, 2.29spg
LA Lakers: L. Reyes - 13.8ppg, 2.6rpg, 5.0apg, 1.00spg, 47.2% FG, 30.4% 3Pt, 80.0% FT

(2) San Antonio
defeats (6) Memphis 3-2

Image

Once again, it took the Spurs to have their backs to the wall before they actually started to play like we all know that they can. Down 2-1 to the Grizzlies and facing elimination, how do the Spurs respond? How about a 50 point road thumping of the Grizz in Game 4 and a 41 point demolition at hom in Game 5 to wrap up the series in 5. Damn. The Spurs will host the Dallas Mavericks in an All-Texas Western Conference Finals, where two contrasting styles will face-off to see who moves on to the NBA Finals.

San Antonio: T. Parker - 18.8ppg, 4.2rpg, 6.9apg, 48.8% 3Pt
Memphis: J. Williams - 11.8ppg, 8.6apg, 1.22spg, 35.7% FG, 31.9% 3Pt

EAST

(1) Detroit
defeats (4) Washington 3-0

Image

I can't help but think that Sit's Magic would have given Sheed's Pistons a much better run for their money. The Pistons were far too strong for the Wizards and showed their class as they won 3 tight games to sweep Washington out of the playoffs.

Detroit: R. Hamilton - 19.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 5.0apg, 1.75spg, 50.0% 3Pt, 87.9% FT
Washington: L. Hughes - 17.1ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.8apg, 0.75spg, 35.8% FG, 35.7% 3Pt.

(3) New York
defeats (7) Charlotte 3-1

Image

Knicks took this series quite comfortably over the Bobcats as expected. Jamal Crawford played like an All-Star in this series as he punished Marko Jaric and the SG-soft Charlotte outfit. The Knicks move on to face a much tougher opponent, in the No. 1 seeded Detroit Pistons.

New York: J. Crawford - 25.4ppg, 3.9rpg, 4.4apg, 1.00spg, 1.00TOpg, 56.9% FG, 47.2% 3Pt, 82.9% FT
Charlotte: M. Jaric - 7.7ppg, 3.6apg, 1.22spg, 36.5% FG, 18.8% 3Pt
Charlotte: A. Watson - 1.7ppg, 0.3apg, 26.7% FG, 25.0% 3Pt

and then there was 4....the Conference Finals have arrived....check out the playoff brackets below....

ImageImage

X's CONFERENCE FINALS PREDICTIONS:

Here is my Conference Finals predictions. Please click on a team's name to go to their playoff roster.

WEST

(2) San Antonio defeats (4) Dallas 3-2

For the 3rd straight series the Spurs take on a high octane team. When the Spurs have had their backs to the walls, they have delivered, and I figure this series will follow suit with the Spurs winning in 5 tough games as the move onto the NBA Finals in an effort to repeat as NBA Champions.

EAST

(3) New York defeats (1) Detroit 3-2

New York is hot right now and I think they can win this series. If they are to win, it would probably go to the full 5 games. I'm predicting that we'll see a Spurs-Knicks 2007 NBA Finals, which will be matchup of the last 2 NBA champions. Detroit will be no walkover so expect this series to be brutal and games won't be as high scoring as the Knicks would like.

Get your picks in guys....good luck and you'll need it....and for you guys hovering around the top but don't think you can win, still make your picks, as you might get a trade request prize if you finish high enough....
