Why does this happen?

How come when you fake a shot by tapping the shoot button the guy guarding you just tangles you up and you have to pass away? I have NEVER seen this happen in a real NBA game.

this happens to me when I fake during dribbling. well, when you fake a shot off a dribble, you can dribble by him anymore which makes passing your next option. they harrass you more because you cannot move with the ball anymore..
well if you pump fake before dribbling, they wont harras you sometimes after the fake or after too many fakes, the computer will try to strip you of the ball.

Hmm that is interesting. I still feel like this happens without me dribbling though.
Still i will try it. I was trying to do a post up move where i fake a turnaround jumper and then go for a lay up. When i didnt get harassed heavily like that it worked like a charm but that happened a lot. I guess i gotta try it without dribbling.
