yep, I've been trying to get a good starting SG since I started the dynasty a few seasons ago but it just hasn't happened....who knows if I'll ever get one, but the hunt continues

It's only 1.35 megs but...I guess dialu would take about 7 minutes or so

However...if the bobcats win Game 7...I want another video...with at least 30 frames!

I won't break a leg, I got big, strong bones, never broken one yet....

as for the video link, it doesn't work for some reason :?

KNICKS RUN OVER BOBCATS IN 44 POINT BLOWOUT

ROUND 2, GAME 1 (SIMMED GAME):

FINAL 1 2 3 4 Total
Bobcats 21 12 14 19 66
Knicks 33 25 33 19 110

GAME RECAP:

The battle-weary Charlotte Bobcats limped into Madison Square Garden in Game 1 not ready for the fresh New York Knickerbockers, who blew them out by an unbelievable and humbling 44 points, as the Knicks won 110-66 to move to a 1-0 lead in the series.

The Knicks won the game on the back of Stephon Marbury who had 30pts, 5rebs, 7asts and 1stl. The best for the Bobcats was Bobby Simmons, whose 23pts, 9rebs, 2asts, 3stls and 1blk went to waste in this blowout loss.

The New York Knicks have really set the bar for the Charlotte Bobcats, and it's up to the 'Cats to make some adjustments and come back in Game 2 and square up the best of 5 series. Either way, it looks like the Bobcats' fairy tale postseason is in for a bumpy ride.

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

BOBCATS

B. Simmons - 23pts, 9rebs, 2asts, 3stls, 1blk
G. Arenas - 15pts, 4rebs, 3asts, 2stls, 1blk
E. Okafor - 8pts, 10rebs, 1ast, 3blks, 2stls
G. Dumars - 8pts, 8rebs, 4asts

KNICKS
S. Marbury- 30pts, 5rebs, 7asts, 1stls (Player of the Game)
K. Thomas - 19pts, 10rebs, 4asts, 1blk
J. Crawford - 16pts, 3rebs, 8asts, 3stls
L. Woods - 10pts, 7rebs, 1ast, 2blks, 1stl
A. Houston - 10pts, 2rebs, 3asts
P. Hardaway - 9pts, 2rebs, 2asts, 1stl, 1blk

MEMPHIS FROSH SURPRISES TIGERS BY DECLARING FOR 2007 DRAFT

In the eleventh hour a news conference had been called at Memphis University by Tigers' freshman swingman Desmond Jackson to announce that he was renouncing his remaining college eligibility and declaring for the 2007 NBA Draft. This decision came to a shock to John Calipari and the rest of the Tigers' coaching staff, who will lose the Conference USA's 2006/07 Freshman of the Year. It came as no surprise to those close to Jackson, who said his decision was prompted by family needs.

DESMOND JACKSON (SbHzMaFiA)

Image

Desmond Jackson has all the talent in the world and projects to fall somewhere in the middle of the 1st Round, where he could possibly move up into the late lottery or fall to the late teens. I would have liked to have seen Jackson return for his sophomore season and try to cement his place in the mid-to-high lottery, but situations have caused him to leave after one season with John Calipari and the Memphis Tigers. Jackson is a unique talent, as he is not only a good athlete, but he does many things well (shooting, ballhandling skills) and can play multiple positions (SG, PG, SF). The only things that prevent Jackson from being a Top 5 prospect is his lack of defensive awareness, where he often got exposed as a freshman. I think, with time, Jackson will use his athletic frame to good use on the defensive end. Jackson also is not great at any one skill, and does many different things well, and for some reason or another, players like this slide down the draft further than they should, as GM's like players with great skills in one area. Personally, I'm a big fan of Jackson's and think, in a season or two, he could develop into a starter and eventually move into the upper echelon of players in the league. A top talent to watch out for here.

DIAZ BREAKS LEG, WILL RETURN FOR SENIOR SEASON

In related draft news, junior guard Guillermo Diaz, of Miami (Fl) University, broke his leg during preparation for the upcoming draft. Upon hearing that the injury would keep him out for a few months and he would be unable to work out for any teams, Diaz withdrew his name from the draft. This is a real blow for Diaz, who figured to be a mid-1st Round pick in this year's draft. Now he'll have to prove his wares once again in his senior season and be a member of the 2008 Draft class, which looks to be significantly stronger than this season's crop of draftees.

Tough loss X, bah your team will come back. Time for GA to prove himself against Starbury.

D-Jack looks to be going to go somewhere where the Cats could be picking............. Might we be seeing the Memphis Uni star in Carolina??

yep, was a tough loss....time for GA to step up in game 2....

as for D-Jax....that's a good point....I could really use a big, versatile SG who can play a bit of PG and SF and has a good outside shot....never really thought of that when I squeezed Jackson into Diaz's slot, that it was so close to my drafting position (16 or 17) and could fill my needs at that spot....but we'll see....anything can happen in the draft

OOOOO YEA!!! You described me very well  It's like you've seen me play before and I also like the story of me missing out on the rest of college with the Tigers. The Penny meets Joe Johnson comparision is right on bat as well. I love it :applaud:

BOBCATS LET GAME SLIP AWAY, JC & KNICKS ONE WIN AWAY FROM CONFERENCE FINALS

ROUND 2, GAME 2 (HUMAN GAME):

FINAL 1 2 3 4 Total
Bobcats 25 26 26 24 101
Knicks 34 19 27 37 117

GAME RECAP:

The 1st quarter was about 1 player, Jamal Crawford, who exploded for 20pts to lead the Knicks to a 9 point lead, 34-25, heading into the 2nd quarter. The Bobcats got down early, but a minor injury to Kurt Thomas and 10 1st quarter points for Bobby Simmons kept them in the game.

Image
Kurt Thomas' injury must have lifted the Cats' spirits early

The 2nd quarter saw the Bobcats turn it up a notch and start to play the type of basketball that had got them past the Heat. They used 8pts from Luke Walton and 7pts from Bobby Simmons to only trail 51-53 at the half.

Image
Bobby Simmons helped the 'Cats close the gap with this 3pter

The 3rd quarter was back-and-forth with both teams going on runs. The Knicks opened the quarter with 8 straight points as the Bobcats fell behind by 51-61. The Knicks were led by 14 combined points by Jamal Crawford and Tim Thomas. The man for the Bobcats was Emeka Okafor, who had only 2pts in the 1st half, as he exploded for 14pts during the 3rd stanza as the Bobcats trailed 77-80 going into the 4th.

ImageImage
The battle between Jamal Crawford (above left) and Bobby Simmons (above right) waged on during the 3rd quarter

New York once again, buoyed on by the MSG faithful, came out of the gates in the final quarter and extended out to an 8pt lead, 79-87, before the Bobcats called a timeout. Each team had their runs as both teams gave it their all on both ends of the court.

ImageImage
As Starbury once again nuetralised G.A. (above left), 'Meka showed the Garden faithful what it's like to have a dominate force in the paint as he establishes perfect post position against JYD

However, it was an unlikely hero, 2nd year combo guard Walt Lue, who stole the show as he scored 5 straight points to extend the Knicks' to a match-winning 9pt lead, 95-104. Jamal Crawford helped the Knicks to seal the deal as the final 101-117 scoreline didn't illustrate how close the game was throughout.

Image
Unlikely hero Walt Lue is starting to develop a cult following in Gotham City

This tough win by the New York Knicks extends their lead in the best of 5 1st Round series to 2-0. The Knicks only need to win 1 out of the final 3 games in this series to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The series is heading to Charlotte where the Bobcats hope to turn this around before it is too late. The Bobcats need their backcourt to step up as JC and Starbury have absolutely destroyed the 'Cats pairing of Jaric and GA. Look for the Bobcats to make the necessary changes and come back hard at the cocky Knickerbockers.

Image
Bobcats are looking down a deep, 0-2 hole that might prove too much for the young squad

NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:

BOBCATS

B. Simmons - 23pts, 6rebs, 2asts, 1blk
E. Okafor - 21pts, 13rebs, 3asts, 3blks
Nene - 16pts, 7rebs, 1ast, 1blk, 1stl
L. Walton - 14pts, 3rebs, 5asts, 1stl

KNICKS
J. Crawford - 40pts, 8rebs, 2asts, 1stl (Player of the Game)
T. Thomas - 22pts, 4rebs, 3asts, 1stl
S. Marbury - 18pts, 2rebs, 5asts

ROUND 2, GAME 2 RESULTS:

(4) Dallas 102 vs (8) LA Lakers 79 (Mavs lead series 2-0)
[Seraph - 9pts, 2rebs, 2asts, 1stl]

CB4 wrote:C'mon X ... you gotta pick up ur games and beat the knicks. I like you screens Also try starting someone inside of Walton

I know, I know....my lack of a quality SG really hurt me as JC went for 40  and to try and tie up JC I played off Lue and he ended up killing me....

I don't understand what you meant by the Walton comment as Luke Walton has not been starting....starters are Dumars/Okafor/Simmons/Jaric/Arenas throughout the playoffs....although with the way that Walton has been playing and Jaric has been disappointing, so in game 3 I went with a lineup of Dumars/Okafor/Walton/Simmons/Arenas....let's see if it worked....

jxuusa wrote:hey x, jxuusa again. you should have won that game man, bounce back i tell you.

I will try my best in game 3, a 4th quarter intervention battle....

ceekay wrote:Step your game up, play Watson more too.

Watson hasn't been playing much because at 6'1" and slow, he's a defensive liability....although with the way that Jaric has been playing, it couldn't hurt to play him a bit more....

cheers on the scouting reports, glad you liked them

VAN EXEL CARRIES BOBCATS ON HIS BACK AS 'CATS WIN A NAILBITER TO EXTEND SERIES

GAME 3 (INTERVENTION GAME):

FINAL 1-3 4 OT Total
Bobcats 67 34 14 115
Knicks 78 23 12 113

GAME RECAP:

Intervening in the 4th quarter, the Bobcats were down by only 11pts 67-78, with an uphill battle of keeping the series alive. The top peformancers for the Bobcats in the 1st 3 quarters were Gilbert Arenas (17pts, 4rebs, 7asts, 3stls), Bobby Simmons (11pts, 5rebs, 3asts, 1stl), Emeka Okafor (8pts, 12rebs, 1ast, 2blks, 2stls) and Nick Van Exel (10pts). Stephon Marbury (22pts, 2rebs, 9asts, 2stls, 1blk) and Jamal Crawford (25pts, 3asts, 1stl) once again led the way for the Knicks.

The story of the 4th quarter had to be Bobcats' reserve Nick Van Exel, who seems to finally be earning his payday and living up to his big shot reputation. Early in the 4th, NVE scored 7 straight points to get the Bobcats within 3pts at 79-82. The Knicks countered with 6 straight points of their own to push the lead to 79-88, but took their knocks as Tim Thomas had to leave the game due to injury. Van Exel countered with another 3 to bring the score to 82-88. An Emeka Okafor foul meant he had 5 for the game, and he got sent to the bench, alongside Gilbert Arenas and Bobby Simmons, who also each had 5 fouls of their own. The score sat at 82-91 after the 3pt play was converted. A Van Exel 3, a Jaric steal and basket, and a Guy Dumars dunk capped a 7-0 run that brought the score to 89-91 with 4:06 left in the game. The Charlotte Bobcats were back in the game and possibly the series.

ImageImage
Van Exel (above left) caught fire early in the 4th and couldn't be stopped, whereas all was not smooth sailing for Tim Thomas (above right) who hurt himself early and had to leave the game. He would return later

Risking fouling them out, Bickerstaff sent Okafor, Arenas and Simmons back into the game for the game's closing minutes. Crawford immediately came out and buried a tough jumper, score 89-93. At the other end, an Emeka Okafor tip-dunk brought the crowd to its feet and the score to 91-93, and the Knicks called a timeout. On the ensuing possession, Okafor gave up his 6th and final foul and was done for the game. Marbury made 1 of 2, score 91-94. A G.A. layup at other end against JC pushed the 'Cats to within 1pt at 93-94. A Marbury miss at one end and a Nene dunk at the other end meant that Charlotte had taken the lead at 95-94 with about 2 minutes left. For the next minute, the score remained the same as both team's defenses stepped up bigtime.

Image
Okafor grabbed the rock with one hand and threw down a nasty 2 handed dunk

Van Exel once again starred in the final minute as he drilled a clutch 3pter over Marbury to give the Bobcats a huge 4pt buffer and an 98-94 lead with 55.9 seconds remaining. After a few more misses, Kurt Thomas tipped in a stray Allan Houston 3pter to bring the score to 98-96 with 21.5 seconds remaining. Van Exel was fouled and made only 1 of 2, leaving the door open for the Knicks, 99-96. An Allan Houston jumper brought the Knicks to within 1pt at 99-98 with 10.3 seconds remaining. Ball was inbounded to G.A. who was fouled and made both of his free throws to bring the score to 101-98. With no timeouts remaining, the Knicks raced up court and found Jamal Crawford, who hit a seemingly impossible 3pter over Guy Dumars that rattle in and out and then in again to tie the game at 101-101 with only 0.4 seconds left on the clock. The Bobcats weren't able to get a shot off and the game was dramatically sent into OT.

ImageImage
Nick Van Quick (above left) had seemingly sealed the deal with another clutch trey, but the Knicks' Jamal Crawford (above right) had one last answer for NVE and the Bobcats that left the home crowd stunned

Van Exel had another spurt during OT as 2 straight 3pters put the Bobcats ahead 111-105. A Tim Thomas dunk and a Kurt Thomas FT pulled the score back to 111-108. Dunks by Bobby Simmons and Tim Thomas moved the score to 113-110. G.A. had a chance to seal it in the final minute but missed a contested layup, then grabbed the board and missed another contested layup. Heading back down the court, the Knicks setup a good look for Stephon Marbury, who with 18.0 seconds left, nailed a 3pter to tie the game at 113-113. After a Bobcats' timeout, Guy Dumars ended up with the ball and an opening to the hoop and he attacked it hard and made a hard dunk over the smaller Michael Sweetney to give the 'Cats a 115-113 lead. With no timeouts remaining and time to get one good look, the Knicks' Stephon Marbury had a great look at a 3pter to win the game. It looked good from Marbury's hands and a collective groan was put up by most in attendance. Fortunately, Marbury's shot was off as the attempt clanged off the front of the iron to give the Bobcats a 115-113 win.

Image
"That Guy" with the game-winning dunk over undersized PF Michael Sweetney, who was trying to masquerade as a C after Woods fouled out

This win means that the Charlotte Bobcats now trail the best of 5 series 2-1, with Game 4 of the series being a simulated affair at home in Charlotte. Can the Bobcats build on this epic win or was this just a slight aberation in the Knicks' quest for a 2nd title in the past 3 seasons?
