Boozer Drops a Bomb on the Lake Show

Image

Carlos Boozer led the Utah Jazz to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday Night in a huge way in Salt Lake City for the 2004-05 season opener. Carlos Boozer scored a career high 46 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and came away with 3 blocked shots in just 36 minutes of play. "I've never seen anyone dominate the post like Carlos did tonight, he was incredible, just incredible.", Lakers Head Coach Phil Jackson said, "We just couldn't put a body on him tonight, something we'll need to work on throughout the season". Boozer shot the lights out, shooting 23-26 (.885) from the field. Jarron Collins and Kobe Bryant also played top-notch in the opener. Kobe Bryant scored a team high 43 points (20 in the 4th quarter), and blocked 3 shots in the loss. Jarron Collins had the best game of his career with a career high of 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. When asked about the game Collins stated "Carlos is the man you need to talk to about the game, he brought the team together and really helped out the team with his playing ability, he was incredible". Phil Jackson starts off the season with a loss and knows he has to make some big moves to turn the team around to make a run for the postseason. The Jazz came away with the win at home 122-115 in the season opener.

Man, you've got some good graphic skills! (Y)
My advice would be to try and make a trade or two to make you're team a little more exciting.

Trade Rumors Arise in Utah

Quite a few trade rumors have been spread over the internet the past few days involving the Utah Jazz. The Jazz are looking to improve at their weakest link - the Point Guard position. Here are the top rumored trades:

Trade Rumor #1: Utah Jazz Point Guard Howard Eisley & Shooting Guard Kirk Snyder for Milwaukee Point Guard Maurice Williams

ImageImage for Image

Rating Comparison: Howard Eisley [56], Kirk Snyder [56], & Maurice Williams [61]

Trade Rumor #2: Utah Power Forward Mehmet Okur & Power Forward Kris Humphries for Golden State Power Forward Troy Murphy & Point Guard Derek Fisher

ImageImage for ImageImage

Rating Comparison: Mehmet Okur [59], Kris Humphries [52], Troy Murphy [63], & Derick Fisher [60]

Note that these are strictly rumors - in no way have these negotiations been confirmed.

Boozer Does it Again

Image

Carlos Boozer had yet another career night on Friday, his second 40+ point performance in two days. Boozer's night didn't start off that way, though. Carlos scored just 4 points in the 1st quarter as Jerry Sloan's Jazz looked sluggish on the defensive end and gave up 42 first quarter points to the Mavericks. Utah got on the ball and broke out with a 41 point second quarter performance - we've got ourselves a high scoring ballgame here. Kirilenko's defensive presence with Carlos Boozer's leadership on the offensive end lifted the whole ball club. Utah Jazz Owner Larry Miller commented, "When our two stars [Kirilenko & Boozer] play this well we're one of the top ball clubs in the NBA, and I look forward to watching them play it out this season". Carlos Boozer almost locked up his first career triple double with 41 points, 10 assists, and 8 rebounds. Andrei Kirilenko had a great night shooting 11-14 from the field to give him 22 points on the night. Kirilenko's offense wasn't the story, though - he blocked 6 shots and came up with 3 steals in the Utah victory. Dallas's backcourt [Michael Finley & Jason Terry] had a great performance as well with a combined 62 points. Utah came up with their second consecutive win of the season over Dallas 146-137.

One main thing I see wrong is your stats and high scoring. Maybe if you adjust your sliders a bit and go for more realistic scores with Boozer where he doesn't look so dominate then it will make it a little better. If you want it that way then its your dynasty

Yeah, I noticed that as well. I checked things out and found out the difficulty setting was on All-Star when the sliders I'm using are meant for the Superstar difficulty. The rest of the games should be more realistic in the statistics category. ;)

I'm actually not much of a Boozer fan and if he wasn't that good in the post I'd trade him because his cap is pretty high for a 75 overall rating. He's a good player so I think I'm going to keep him and build a team around both him & Andrei.

In an effort to free up some salary cap room the Utah Jazz have traded Howard Eisley & Kirk Snyder to Milwaukee in exchange for Bucks' Point Guard Maurice Williams. Utah also released Center Ben Handlogten & Shooting Guard Guard Randy Livingston. The Jazz have picked up Center Jelani McCoy & Point Guard Shammond Williams from free agency.
