Center Ratings Question

Tue Apr 26, 2005 1:11 pm

It seems to me that the overall ratings of centers is downgraded in comparison to the other position. When you are setting your sub rotation do you follow the overall ratings exactly as the game does or do you adjust the ratings of the big men (i.e. a Center with a rating of 55 is above a SG with a rating of 57)?

I generally order my bench according to my own substitution pattern, rather than overall ratings in descending order.

I do the same in fact the first guy off the bench is usually not the highests rated.

well, just put your favourite sub at the top and make sure no position is left out
the game's substitution patterns are usually useless

I love how in close games with with 2 mins or less left the CPU always seems to think the guy who is doing the best on my team needs a break even though he has 0-2 fouls, his stramina bar is less then half gone and there are other guys on my team that are at 10% stamina. I've actually played the game out a few times (I usually just time out and reinsert the guy) just to see when that guy would come back and he never does.

Talk about cheap. :D

It's cuz every center except Shaq is garbage. Seriously.

how about the second best center in the league? E.DAMPIER

seriously if the player loses endurance fast in a game, could it be he is injured? once i have Yao playing injured and just 15 seconds to the game his health meter is almost gone......damn

Hey guys I have an important questions to ask you.

I re-ordered all the players in every team before starting a new franchise. But after a few games the computer would re-ordered some of the positions :(

For instance in Boston, I had SG Ricky Davis as the 6th man but after a few games he was in the starting lineup :(

Anyway I can fix this?

edit the players DBF file? dunno havent tried it but it should work.

@furious1, why dont oyu turn subs for your team to 0?

The CPU will generally re-order it's lineups when it makes a transaction or if there's an injury. Only way to change the lineups back is to modify the appropriate values in players.dbf. There's no way to prevent it from happening.

In my last 8 games, Eddy Curry is averaging 34.8 ppg, 12.4 rpg and 3.8 bpg (even with blocks slider set at 0) on all-star mode.

Yeah I do pretty well with guys like Gasol or any center with a good jumper.

IMO the best centers in the NBA in order are:
Shaq
Big Ben
Yao
those are in order. out of order after that are
camby
stoudamire
illgaskas

In the game every center is good...
It depends how you use him...
I usually score many points with my post-up palyers.

Mon Jun 27, 2005 12:28 am

yup jus play ur C in the paint more

Mon Jun 27, 2005 1:12 am

I agree with Caspar!

If u can use the Center right, even Shawn Bradley rocks!

Tue Jul 05, 2005 10:19 am

I got Bradly on my mavs roster and he can play :D
He can shoot the open jumpers and do easy lay-ups on his cuts to the basket. Also his blocking is good :D

I've developed Pavel Podkolzine into a really good player. Although his overall rating (46 I think) doesn't reflect it, all the training etc he has had makes him rock. Plus he's 7'5 and doesn't get pushed around by anyone doesn't hurt!
