Creating your own shot 1on1 and statistics

Postby Hopsing on Sat Jun 04, 2005 5:38 pm

Hello

I think the block-issue has been discussed before more than once, and the reason in my opinion is the short reaction time of the cpu. Actually they would have to go after every shot fake with that kind of reaction, but somehow the cpu knows when u r faking most of the time  .
Now what I want to know is if you guys are capable of creating your own shot one on one let's say with Lebron James against Tayshaun Prince. I get blocked again and again. 2 out of 3 attempts I get blocked. It doesn't affect my usual gameplay to much since I look for the open jumper (preferably the 3) but it is frustrating even though when I want to score some with Lebron James and EVEN almost ALL of his fadeaways are blocked.
Another thing: In some of the dynasties I have seen season statistics with season leaders and stuff like that, season highs for all the players. Where did you guys get them from?

bye

It's hard to shake defenders and taller ones block shots a little too often. I usually find that a couple of crossovers can be effective, but mostly I prefer to call for a pick to free up a shooter.

In Dynasty Mode, go to GM's Desk -> Stats Central -> League Leaders for all league leader information.

Thx for the quick reply Andrew, but league leaders are not what i am looking for. The stats I've seen in some web dynasties must have been compiled by an external programme. You could see the season best for all your players, against which team they were achieved, the overall best for your team and so on and so on. it was presented in a neat table.

You might be thinking of the Birdie Board that HonorGlow maintains, I think that includes information like that. Otherwise, it's just individuals presenting data they've recorded themselves neatly formatted.

Oh yeah, that would be hell of a work, but it's nice. :) I will try to find a link to one of these tables.

i find it really hard to free myself from tayshaun in the game.. but like andrew said, call for a pick to set yourself free.. also you can try going right but immediately go back to your left and that should give you a wide open lane..

try this too

drive right and right when you're close to the rim execute a dropstep and you should be able to lay it up or draw a foul

The best way to lose a defender 1 on 1 is to do some cross-overs, get him playing at the ball, blow by them a step or 2 when they go for the steal and they'll foul you or you'll get the shot off....

The best offence in the game is the good old pick n roll, use it religiously and keep an eye out for the openings.
