Gary Payton On His Return To Seattle
Payton: Well, it really feels good ya know? To be back in this arena, in the locker room, well the home locker room at least *laughs* But yeah it definitely feels great to be in this uniform again, to play with some familiar faces again, and most of all to try to get this team to the playoffs again, and hopefully into the finals and finally win a championship. I mean, it was heart breaking last year getting into the finals with the Lakers last year and lose to a team that I very much respect, the Detroit Pistons. All we have to do is to stay healthy, keep Ray [Allen] off the disabled list, and also keep myself healthy. I mean my knees definitely aren’t what they used to be when I was here back in the stone age, but it should be fun playing again, I'm looking forward to our first game.

hey Sit, you must be thinking Amare Stoudemire for the Reignman-like force at PF....but instead of having Payton, I would bring in a new, quick, defensive-minded PG to play a young Gary Payton....not sure if there are many around....Marcus Banks comes to mind but he's a poor man's version....Billups....hmmm....B-Diddy....hmmm....Steve Francis....hmmm....
