Talk about NBA Live 2005 here.

I'm new to this board, MODS please move this to the appropriate forum if I posted it in the wrong one.
Hi,
I was thinking about going out and buying NBA Live 2005 for the PC today but I was wondering if anyone could this question before I do:
How well do you think this game will run on my computer (I'm not looking for Xbox graphics but I'd like it to be fairly good looking)?
Here's my setup:
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+
2.17 GHz, 448 MB of RAM
Integrated NVIDIA GeForce4 MX Integrated GPU (128bit I'm assuming)
Plenty of hard drive space
I realize that the video card might present a problem (since it's an older model)... So please also list the video card that you recommend (if possible).
Thanks a lot!

You can probably run it but it won't look all that good.
If money is an issue, the lowest model card I would get would be a Radeon 9600XT or a Radeon 9700 Pro. Or if you're not worried about DX9 "special effects", which NBA Live doesn't even take full advantage of, then I'd get an Nvidia GeForce4 Ti 4400 or 4600.
I'd also go to at least a full 512MB of RAM and, if you have the money, a full 1GB.

Thanks for the advice... I went ahead and bought the game. It runs fine on my machine but the graphics are nothin' to brag about... I'll hopefully go out and pick up a better graphics card this weekend.
Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta start downloading some much needed patches

.
Thanks again...

You have a really good CPU and okay RAM, but the video card is way outdated. I have Athlon XP 1800 and a Geforce 4 Ti 4600. They are only like 50-100 dollars now and I suggest in getting one of those. It was the best investment in a card back a year ago, I dont know about today tho.
However, before I upgraded to a TI 4600 I had a Geforce 2 MX which is alot like the Geforce 4 MX, so I think you could probably run the game on low quality.

Well right now I'm running it on Maximum quality but it doesn't look that great because of my card. It's barely using any of my CPU but I've had no problems with skipping or anything.

I had a sligtly slower pc than you but with a better card (ATI 128mb) and it worked greated. Looked great, and ran great.
Just buy a new average card and you'll be fine.

I think I'm gonna go with a slightly-above average card so that hopefully '06 won't be too hard to run

. Hopefully I won't have to take out a loan to buy one LOL.

Your overall system is better than mine:
I have a Asus motherboard, Athlon XP 2500+, 768 RAM memory, and a MSI GeForce 4200.
The graphics are pretty awesome with the Geforce 4200 manufactured by the MSI.
