Great to see you back with the knicks Dynasty Ceekay !

If i was looking to deal Marbury id most prob go with someone like Ilgauskas if you wanted to go big or maybe think about moving Crawford to point guard and trading for either Ray Allen, Michael Finley or Jalen Rose.

Good luck !

Cant wait for the next update those vids are hot !

Kirk Hinrich to Knicks....you could get a pretty good 2nd player in a deal I'd say....

Thu May 12, 2005 10:58 pm

Thanks for all the comments. About the trade, I'm looking for someone who isn't on the level of Marbury so that I can get a good bench player along with it or maybe a draft-pick.
I'm not really interested in moving Crawford to PG, he finally starts to hit his threes now but when I bring the ball up court with him he has a lot of TO's and he can't get past people.
Hinrich is the kind of player I'm looking for, just not Hinrich himself as I don't like him either and my plan was to trade Marbury for someone I like more.
Thanks for the suggestions though, keep them coming if you have more, I'm still thinking about it myself too.

I say keep up real and try and go for a player that has the potential to start, but rating isn't that high. Maybe in the 60-67 range or someone who does start. Marcus Banks? Delonte West? Jason Terry? Devin Harris? just to name a few

P.S.- That VC move was very nice, it kinda reminded me of the move he did in real life that was a 360 layup

Week 8: Knicks Cruise Through Easy Week
This past week, the New York Knicks had actually some time to rest. Only 3 games this week instead of the usual 4. The rest also came in handy as the Knicks made a trade with Indiana, involving former All-Star Stephon Marbury.
About the games during this week: they were all against weak opponents. Utah is struggling, Dallas was Dirk-less and Boston is way below .500 as well. Kirilenko was pretty damn good against us though, he scored the first 9 Utah points of the game and had an amazing statline, but he did not receive much help from his teammates. Ariza displayed some tight defense this week once again, limiting Paul Pierce to 12 points in 3 quarters (in the 3rd quarter TT was playing and Pierce scored 9). Jamal Crawford now is the star in New York and plays like one as his shooting percentages improved.

    NYK vs UTAH
    Image Image Image
Left: Jamaal Tinsley in his Knicks debut, breaking Collins' ankles. JT had 12 points and 7 assists.
Middle: Kirilenko goes strong to the rack. He tried to do it all for Utah - well actually he did it all, but it wasn't enough like often in this season.
Right: The Utah players knew it: it was over before it even started.

Middle: Sure, whendo you want it, like now? Booom! Toine Walker said no but boy did he get it...
Right: The Knicks were playing like the home team in the always tough FleetCenter. Tinsley even made a 4-point play, as they crowd went completely silent.

Marbury Dealt To Indiana, Knicks Receive Trio Of Pacers

New York - Know for their many trades the past couple seasons, the Knicks GM once again agreed on a deal, this time with his Indiana Pacers' counterpart. After mainly off-court problems, New York native Stephon Marbury now is gone from New York, at least until there's another GM than the current one, Isiah Thomas.

New York acquired Jamaal Tinsley, Fred Jones and Dale Davis from the Indiana Pacers, in return the Pacers received Stephon Marbury and Dahntay Jones, who was acquired in the Thomas-Swift trade two weeks ago.

The knicks showed immediate trust in Tinsley's talent as he started the following 3 games after the trade, but on practices and especially in games, Damon Stoudamire (also received in a trade this season) showed he deserves the starting spot more and he will start from now on.
GM Thomas was still very excited about Tinsley as Stoudamire's contract will end this year (Tinsley's too though) and Jamaal has the age advantage.

    NY TIMES TRADE RATING: C+
Obviously, the Knicks raped themselves with this trade, but due to lack of interest in Marbury from other teams and the conflict in NY, this was the best solution, therefore the +.

Ariza with the sweet dish, Swift's got what it takes to rock the rim | Watch

ps. I know about the 20-6 record and the many "not-so-close" games, but I already switched to Superstar and it still happens. I will look if my sliders are alright, but I think they are because I am (or at least was) using Ben's. I'd like to keep it on the realistic side; do you guys think I should lose some games on purpose (please don't say yes only because you don't like the REAL Knicks).

Fri May 20, 2005 7:36 am

That can be the first step, maybe to prepar a better trade.

Fri May 20, 2005 7:41 am

I loved Marbury ... but I love Jones too
Tinsley will no eat the ball like Marbury used to do, but he will not score nether...

Fri May 20, 2005 7:47 am

ye man good job, ye could of gotten marbury for someone else but w/e still good trade.

Fri May 20, 2005 8:02 am

Dope trade! I like all 3 players you got for Marbs. Am a big fan of Tinsley's. Glad you pulled the trigger on that trade.

Sun May 22, 2005 9:50 pm

congrats on the Trade

getting Jones was a huge bonus !!

Go Knicks!!

Fri May 27, 2005 12:17 am

YES! (Y) He's gone...now the Knicks might have a chance.

Good trade if you ask me, Marbury is a cancer to any team he plays for--he showed his true colors when he was with the the T-Wolves. Could've been something special up there, oh well. Jones will hopefully blossom for you as a star player.

Fri May 27, 2005 1:24 am

Hey ceekay looks like a fair trade has been made there! Tinsley always gave me fits playing against him!
Also, I FINALLY used those tabs you made for me for Dynasty Module! Have you taken a look yet? It's not fully implemented but it's getting there!

Finally, make sure you send me your pstat file! As it appears that your getting to the midway (29 games for 58) or you're a little past the quarter of the season for 82 games! Keep up the awesome graphics!

Fri May 27, 2005 5:05 am

Oh man I'm loving this!! Great presentation and awesome ESPN 'boxscore' ! (Y)

Well Tinsley doesn't usually put up 20-8 like Marbury, so he's probably a better fit. Shame to see Marbury go though. Well, one more step to cap space....in 15 years.

wow... great trades. finally someone got marbury out of ny
i feel sorry for indiana

Week 9: Knicks Still Play The Team Game After Many Trades
Normally GM's are told not to change a winning team. But this year's New York Knicks aren't normal. After making a large number of trades past seasons and this season as well, the Knicks finally have their team going the right way, being at the league's top since the beginning of the season and keeping up the strong play. The Knicks, who had missed the playoffs the a couple years before and only played 4 games in them last year, didn't have a bright perspective coming into the season and even after the surprisingly good start, people still expected them to choke and eventually miss the playoffs. However, they are still going strong and are determined to stay atop the league.
This week proved to be the same business as usual, as they went 3-1 only losing to the Orlando Magic, while they defeated the early title candidate Minnesota (at home).

    NYK vs CHA
    Image Image
Left: Jason Kapono played like the big talent he used to be, creating mismatches and displaying strong inside and outside play.
Right: Tim Thomas is probably one of the best players in the league not starting, even though his stats don't back him up on that. He lost his starting job to rookie Ariza but doesn't complain about having to contribute from the bench.

Right: While Tim Thomas was earlier mentioned as one of the best bench players in the L, Mike Sweetney is definately up there too.

All-Star Weekend Still Weeks Away, But Balloting Starts!

New York - This week the NBA All-Star Balloting 2005 has officially started. The New York Knicks are asking you to vote and of course are trying to promote their two players involved in the voting. Their Power Forward and definately the biggest surprise of the season so far, Maurice Taylor, is nominated for a starting forward spot for the Eastern team. The same goes for Jamal Crawford, the first year Knick has the chance to be a starting guard for the same East team.

To cast you votes, please go HERE
    (or click on my signature)

ceekay: I'd appreciate if you would vote, not necessarily for my players. If enough people vote, I will use the results to determine the all-star starters, if not I will let the game pick them.
Please don't vote 20 times in a row just to get your favorite players in the game. I will just promote the voting process again in my next updates so that new people will vote and the usual readers will maybe vote every once in a while.
