game winning shot?

Postby [L3]1101 on Thu May 19, 2005 6:39 pm

i was playing phoneix with my dallas team today. As the second quarter was about to end, Finley has his ball in his hand, but i decided not to shoot it as he was pretty far from the basket. So as the camera pulls away, after the buzzer of course, i pressed the shoot button just for the heck of it, and it goes it... how nice. But then i hear the announcers say "It's good, but the officials will have to review it." ????? And they had a shot of the official making a hand signal saying it's good. LOL!! Has this bug been posted?

It's not a bug. Baskets that like are reviewed at the end of each quarter. I remember a game this season where a last second three at the halftime buzzer was taken away after review.

Andrew, it IS a bug. He pressed the shoot button after the horn, so there is no way the basket could count. I never encountered that one before, though.

sounds like the refs were bribed....I'd have to see it to believe it though as I have trouble believing that they would call it good when it was blatantly late....although it could be a bug, ya never know....

My mistake, I mis-read his post (as the explanation in my post would suggest). I thought he was referring to the fact the game went to the basket review sequence when it wasn't the fourth quarter. Carelessness on my part, my apologies for the misunderstanding.

Yes, I have encountered this bug before, in the most frustrating way. I was playing the Sixers and Iverson missed a long three that would have won the game. My relief was short-lived however as Kenny Thomas tipped it in clearly after the buzzer sounded and my players were walking off the court. In my case, it didn't even go to the basket review cutscene.

yea i probably should've made a video clip of it, as it is a rare bug in which you need to be extremely lucky to see catch it. But it was too much work

they probably made it count because the person started the time before he passed it in. maybe thats only in memphis.
This sig was too offensive for the kids.

True. It's similar to the overtime bug that was in NBA Live 2001 and NBA Live 2002 - it doesn't happen all the time. In fact, I never experienced that problem playing NBA Live 2001 and 2002 (game skips overtime leaving the final result a tie, but giving the user-controlled a team a loss) but I know others did come across it at least once.

this happened to me, too
i released the shot way after the buzzer, hit it and Marv said "It's good, but the officials (...)"

the ref made the sign that the shot was alright
but i didn't get the points

funny bug ^^

o oh heres another bug, when you have say a bench SF shoot the 3, and its released before the buzzer but it goes in after the buzzer, 3 points will be rewarded to the SF that is put on pending (usually the starting SF)

I've never noticed that happen before, though I've probably never had the opportunity. I'll have to give that a try. That one's similar to the replay glitch in the earlier Lives.

Yup, I've encountered this one. If you have pending substitutions, it changes the players as soon as the buzzer sounds, so I'm guessing that's why.
