February 4:Lakers@Nets
Nets had 3 days of rest and it showed on their game,they started strong and dominated throughout the game.Halfway through the first quarter Carter got injured:
He was out for the first half,but returned in the second and ended up with 16 points.Jefferson took over in the first half:
Nets ended up with a win and Nene was player of the game.

The Nets were trying to extend their winning streak to 3 and did just that.Vince and Jefferson,the two main players of the Nets got help from a player that was in the shadow for the last few months,Nenad Krstic.Krstic shoot 9-11 through first three quarters and finished the game with 20 points.Another player worth mentioning was Casey Jacobsen who scored 14 points of the bench(threes 4-5).Nets won 96-80He was player of the game.Vince,ofcourse, provided the highlight material:

A very promising game with two high scoring teams.But the score was far from hi,defence was the key in this game and Nets come out winners.Nets PF's Tyson Chandler and Nene stopped Dirk so Dallas turned to Terry who had 10 points by halftime:
But the Nets played great defence and let Dallas bench score just 10 points.Nets won 78-73.
Player of the game,Vince Carter shooting his last free throw of the game.

Coach Frank told the team at halftime that the way they played in the first half isn't going to get them another title and that he knows they can play better.Players got their morale up and it was as if another team came on the court,they were ready to play,third quarter each team finished with 19 points and than in the fourth Nets erupted for 32 points whle holding the Hornets to 16 points and won by 10 points.Three players most responsible for the good second half were Heinrich,Korver and Jacobsen who combined scored 7 threes in the second half.

Marv said before the start of the game that a blowout was an option,he didn't mention that the Nets were going to be the ones getting blown away.Well that is what happened,Nets played a disaster of a game,I couldn't wait to end it,O'Neal once again proved to be a great defender and I was so pissed off when he blocked my 6 dunk try,I mean come on,Jerome James goes for the dunk and O'Neal blocks him,that really pissed me of,I felt like this:
So I had my 5 game winning streak ended

Nenad Krstic was in the sophmore starting lineup,and although he did pick up mvp and rookie of the year award last season,he was in the shadow of Emeka Okafor.Once again,he showed the world his place is in the NBA and in he starting line up of a championship winner,he scored 29 points,grabbed 11 rebs and had 3 blocks.He also dished out 2 assists.He was named Rookie challange MVP.Sophomores won 63-57.

Vince Carter,LeBron James,T. Ariza and C. Butler were the contenders.Carter,James and Ariza scored 50 points in the first round,but in the second,James was the only one who repeated the same record and he won the Slam dunk champion award:

East won 61-59 with O'Neal picking up the MVP award.The game was full of great dunks so I didn't want to single any out.But something far more important happened behind the scenes.Vince Carter,Nenad Krstic and Jason Kidd meet and spoke about the trade.They all agreed that they didn't want the trade.Kidd really loved playing for the Nets and the rest of the team loved playing with him.Carter told Kidd that the ex-Bulls were having a hard time getting used to New Jersey.Hinrich who joined them later,said them that he was very happy in Chicago and that he would to like to return.They called their GM's and said that they want to be traded back.GM's at first didn't want to talk about it,but soon come to see that the trade wasn't a good thing for either team.They started to negotiate and finally came up with a deal:
Nets and Bulls backtrack,Kidd back with the Nets!!!!
In a first for the NBA Bulls traded Kidd back to the Nets,just 2 months after they sent Hinrich,Chandler and Davis to the Nets.The original trade fell hard to the hearts of the fans of both teams.The second trade was a result of the two teams stars Carter,Kidd and Hinrich which convinced the GM's to return them to their teams.GM's granted their wishes and made the trade,but only condition was that J.R. Bremer stays with the Bulls,couse he was responding well to the change.Rod Thorn finally accepted the proposition and Kidd was a Net again!
"It all seams sureal,man,it was like a bad dream,I mean no offence to the Bulls,but my place is here." said Jason Kidd.
"Now we are complete,we got Kidd back,lets try to forget this last couple of months.Lets play ball." told Carter to the press.
Nenad Krstic,the second year centar for the Nets,who flurished playing with Kidd,was thrilled with the news and said that he can't wait for Kidd's first alley-oop
"I am glad that I can play again along side Gordon and Deng again" told Hinrich.
Looks like comebacks are in fashion,with last years Walker return and now this Kidd drama.Nice to see that in this cold business there are still GM's that care!

Jason Kidd is back with New Jersey Nets and the way he played this game,some would think he never left,the chemistry within the team is great,they had no problem winning the Wizards,although Juan Dixon scored most points in the game.But the way the Nets played was really beautiful.Jason Kidd ended the first half with 7 points,3 assists and 4 steals:
Carter scored most points for the Nets,24 and he didn't have to struggle,Kidd just made his job a whole lot easier and it showed:Carter was 50% from the field.But the player of the game was,well deserved, Jason Kidd,who ended the game with 15 points,5 steals and 5 assists.
The Nets finally played like a team.Wizards did put up a fight in the second half,even managed to take the lead halfway through the fourth,but that's when Kidd scored five points and dished one to Nene for the dunk and the Nets went up by 6,they managed to win by 8 points.

A thriller!!Nets started with a 9-0 run in the first and were leading at the end of first,but the Pistons tightened the defence and managed to take the lead and contain the Nets to only 8 points in the second half;Carter was carring the Nets scoring 15 points in the first half:
Third quarter brought better game from the Nets,but at the end of the third,they were still trailing by 9 points.Nets played a perfect fourth quarter and managed to win the game 77-74.Kidd was named player of the game,he scored 13 points and had 8 steals nd an assist.Carter ended the game with 30 points and Jefferson added 17.
February 24:
The Nets claimed J.Pine off waivers 3 days after he got waived by the Cavaliers.Pine was Nets 1. round pick in 2005 and was traded along with 2. round pick to Cavaliers for DeJuan Toure,Cavs first round pick.

Day after the transfer deadline,the Nets were playing against the Toronto Raptors at home.This game was a blowout,the Nets won by 23 points,103-80. Carter once again led the Nets in scoring,ended up with 20 points and was the player of the game..Jefferson added 17 and Nene ended up with 14.Carter started the game very aggresive and showed no mercy for his ex-teammates,scoring 18 points in the first half:
This win was a great team effort,everybody made it possible.The Nets are on a three game winning streak and are looking as a team that is more than capable of winning the title again.With the return of Jason Kidd,everithing fell into place and the Nets have great team chemistry.
RJ is playing very well since Jason Kidd's return and has lifted his scoring average by 5 points since the trade.

The Pacers curse has once again showed it's face:the Nets lost for the third time this season against the Pacers.Nets can't find a way to respond to Pacers defence,once again it was a cold start for the Nets and the Pacers took advantage,managed to build a 46-30 lead by half time.The Nets managed to make a comback in the third and got within striking distance trailing by 2,but the Pacers once again used their defence to stop the Nets and kept on scoring.Pacers won 85-77.
Player of the game was Jonathan Bender.

First game for the Nets in March.They had 2 days to rest and it showed,they won by 22,it was a blowout,Nets had 4 players in double digits and the rest of the Nets scored atleast a point(Lopez).The game was over by half time,Nets had a 58-43 lead,Carter scored 20 points.Atlanta managed to outscore the Nets in the fourth by 4 points,but it was just because coach Frank sent reserves to play the whole quarter.

On a two game winning streak the Nets come to Boston with an idea of winning.Celtics had a different view at the outcome of the game and made sure the Nets will see it their way.Celtics won 86-80.Carter once again scored the most points for the Nets,29,but other then him and Korver(17 points),the Nets were cold,nobody in double digits.Celticas on the other hand had 4 players in double digits,Pierce-22.

When this two are matched up,there is no way of knowing who is going to win.This time it was the Nets,they knew that if they close down Francis or Turkoglu,they have half the win,they just have to score,and that usually isn't a problem.So Frank come up with a tactic,he told Kidd and Carter to try and get fouls against the magic two.Carter did a great job and Turkoglu sat 90% of the first quarter on the bench couse of foul trouble.Nets took advantage and were up by 16.They had no problem cruising to victory.Final score was 83-73 for the Nets.

Nets are 0-3 against the Pacers this season.
The fourth and final game was a thriller.Nets were beginning to think that there is a spell to stop them from winning against the Pacers.
The first half was a show of equal teams,and the score was 38-37 for the Pacers at the half.Defence was the priority and both teams defended well.
At the end of the third quarter Pacers had a 3 point lead.

The fourth and final game was a thriller.Nets were beginning to think that there is a spell to stop them from winning against the Pacers.
The first half was a show of equal teams,and the score was 38-37 for the Pacers at the half.Defence was the priority and both teams defended well.
At the end of the third quarter Pacers had a 3 point lead.

This was a highly expacted game because it was a clash of two top ranked teams in eastern and western conference.Everybody expected a close game,but after the first half,it looked like a blowout,Nets finished the first quarter with a 28-14 lead.Kings managed to bounce back,though and outscored the Nets 24-16 in the second,and were trailing only by 6 at the halftime.Nets managed to stop Peja at 4 points in the first half.Key player for the Nets was Nenad Krstic.Kings tried to take the lead in the second,but Nets didn't let that happen and won the game 97-92.Krstic was the player of the game with 17 points,9 rebs,2 blocks and an assist.Nets had 5 players in double digits.Sacramento had three players with over 20 points,but it wasn't enough for the win.
Play of the game:Williamson goes toward the basket,James leaves Skinner to block Williamson,who throws the lay-up to Skinner.

Spurs did to Nets what Nets did to Kings 3 days ago,Spurs outscored the Nets in the first and cruised to victory.The Nets managed to comeback in the third,but Parker shifted into higher gear and helped Spurs regain the lead.Game ended 79-76 for the Spurs.Carter had one of the worst starts of the season,managed to score just 4 points in the first half.Parker scored most points of the game,25,but Duncan got the player of the game title.A very bad showing from the Nets.

A game between two teams that made history with this seasons Kidd trades.Kidd is back with the Nets and getting confortable again.Hinrich was inyured,so there wasn't going to be a contest between the two great pointguards.But Nene was ready to show the Nets asministration that he is their PF of the future and that the Bulls Nets trading fiasko that brought Chandler to the Nets was not neaded.Nene and Chandler were battling throughout the first half and were bothkey players at half.Nets managed to win 90-87 and Carter was named player of the game and had the play of the game,a windmill.

A blowout,as simple as that,this was the easiest win of the season for the Nets.Nets outscored the Hornets in the first quarter by 22 points,the quarter ended 27-5 for the Nets,recorded a 14-0 run,the defence was rock solid.Nets cruised to victory in a game that New Orleans will try to forget as soon as possible.Nene was the player of the game with 13 points,10 rebs and 4 blocks.Kidd was once again brilliant in defence,getting 6 steals.

Vince Carter was once bood all game long and this time it must have affected him,cause he finished the game with 9 points,he shoot 4-15 from the field,a disaster.Nets got beat pretty bad in this game,final score:79-59.Here is Nene slaming the ball to the hoop to let the frustration out:

Nets come home from a terrible gefeat from the Raps and looked to bounce back and so they did,handing the Kings their second loss against the Nets this month.But the win wasn't easy,Kings led in the first half,but after the half time break,Nets managed to stage a comeback and won 92-82.The final score might seem like an easy win,but the teams were leveled until the final 2 minutes of the game in which the Nets went on a 12-2 run.Player of the game was Richard Jefferson with 19 points,4 rebs and 5 assists.
