Fun with dynasty points

Thu Apr 21, 2005 1:05 am

I had a funny thing happen with my latest dynasty (Lakers) and wonder if anyone else has had this happen. I edited my dynasty points and gave myself 900,000. I drafted a pg with the 5th pick in the draft. He started the season as a 63. I decided to see what would happen if I spent a ton of dynasty points training him.

Anyway I did about 20 training (10 shooting, 5 defese and 5 offense) sessions on him every week during the season and at the start of the next season he was rated 83!! I am not making this up. I did about 10 sessions a week on him during his second season and I just started the new season and he's rated 92!!

Anyone ever done this before? I know it's not a fluke because I also raised Caron Butler from a 69 to an 85 in the same time frame using about half as many sessions.

i edited my dynasty points to like 2000000 and made all of my team 99 and all of my centres and power forwards could shoot 3s. My guards could all block. It was the best but by the next season they all wanted their salaries raised by like 10million more than it was before.

Nothing more nothing less to say:

CHEATERS...

Were you really surprised to get some guys overall up by 20 points in a season when you spend like 10,000 dynasty points on his training in a week???

Get real...

some people are thrilled about this metsis.....no need to burst their bubbles or rain on their parade......just let em be.......hehehe

I know that some people are thrilled about it... I just don't see the point...

I would try to take the absolutely worst guy that comes up in the draft and try to train him into a super-star and see if that would work.

A top 5 pick probably has a pretty bright future ahead of him anyways, so he will develop no matter if you train him that hard or not, but I'd like to know can you train a guy with 30 overall into a guy with 99 overall...

Now that would be intresting and that would be challenging... And that would be something I would experiment with if I tried to do this...

like they said they cheated with the dynasty points.......they can have it like train a guy 50 times.....whereas when you dont cheat you can barely train someone individually because you know you are waisting dynasty points compared to having the whole team trained.......
the point is whatever works for each individual works!!!! if poeple like you and me hate cheaters then its no used preaching people not to cheat because others likes the benefits of the good ol easy way out.......so to the guys who were able to produced superstars out of a bust player......good for you..... I did that already. I turned a 2nd round draft pick rated 48 into a 99 super star that lead the league in all stats except minutes played.

The reason I found it interesting is that in the 04 version you could spend all the points you wanted and the next year any improvements you made were gone.

As far as cheating goes what do you call when you suddenly can't hit a wide open 5 ft jumper or dunk the ball with KG while at the same time the worst guy on your opponents team can knock down 5 three pointers in a row all while being double teamed?

You really want to win each game by 50 points... We had Live 2000, 2001, 2003 and 2004 for that... Not to mention the earlier versions.

The AI cheats a little, but it ain't all cheating. Sure KG would probably not miss an open dunk, but it happens from time to time... Even a great player misses some baskets he usually makes. Hell, I even miss a three-pointer every now and then

Basketball is a game of streaks... You sometimes get a hot streak going and it feels like you can hit anything and from anywhere and over anyone and the other team starts to feel like they can't hit anything. The AI team goes on a streak to accomplish this... Your players get a little nervous as the other team is catching up etc. This is normal, but the AI cheats here a little as it can't contain the human mind like they can in the real world...

no i just did it for fun to see my centers shoot 3 pointers and point guards blocking shots. It was fun but i didnt do a whole dynasty with the team. I just thought it would be fun to see how goo dthey can be. But now i deleted that dynasty and started a new one with myself playing in it and im not gonna cheat becasue i know what happens when your cheat.
